Alolan variants were first introduced in Pokemon Sun and Moon but were brought into Pokemon GO and Pokemon Let's Go much sooner. In fact, players can already get Alolan Pokemon in the latter, despite the fact that they did not first appear in the Kanto region. Currently, there are two known methods to obtain these variants in Pokemon Let's Go.

The first method is the easiest, but requires players to have obtained the Pokemon in Let's Go's mobile counterpart Pokemon GO. Afterward, players just simply need to transfer the Pokemon between the two, but it's worth mentioning players will need to make it to Fuchsia City first.

The other method is less direct, but makes the Pokemon obtainable earlier in some scenarios. Let's Go players will meet new NPCs from the Alola region that will trade their form for the standard Kanto form. This simply means players will need to find the standard form and then take them to any of the following locations for the Alolan form:

alolan geodude and alolan diglett
  • Alolan Rattata - Cerulean Pokemon Center
  • Alolan Geodude - Vermillion Pokemon Center
  • Alolan Diglett - Lavender Pokemon Center
  • Alolan Sandshrew - Celadon Pokemon Center (Let's Go Pikachu only)
  • Alolan Raichu - Saffron Pokemon Center
  • Alolan Marowak - Fuchsia City Pokemon Center
  • Alolan Grimer - Cinnabar Island Pokemon Center
  • Alolan Exeggutor - Indigo Plateau

Of course, as seen above, not every Alolan form can be found prior to reaching Fuchsia City, but trading these Pokemon is a good way to get variety on the team early. After all, not only are they drastically different in appearance, they are drastically different in typing.

All things considered, adding Alolan Pokemon to Pokemon Let's Go was likely a wise choice, as many are sure to want this variant. Plus, with the aforementioned methods being simple and direct, many are likely to enjoy that facet. Of course, many are also likely interested in obtaining Mew, so check out that guide here.
