Since the introduction of Alolan forms in Pokemon Sun & Moon, regional variations have become fairly common in some of the more recent Pokemon games. Unlike shiny Pokemon though — which are effectively just palette swaps — these unique variations feature brand-new designs and typically change the Pokemon's type as well. Pokemon Legends: Arceus continues this newfound tradition, with the open-world adventure introducing Hisuian Pokemon to the franchise.

With 17 of them scattered throughout Pokemon Legends: Arceus in total, there aren't quite as many Hisuian Pokemon as there are Galarian (19) and Alolan (18) forms. Even so, the new typings that are on offer are all pretty interesting and some of the revised designs are fantastic too. Those hoping to catch all of the Hisuian Pokemon in Legends: Arceus are going to have their work cut out for them, however, as some can be a little tricky to find.

Hisuian Growlithe

pokemon-legends-hisuian-growlithe

Hisuian Growlithe was one of the very first new regional Pokemon to be revealed following the announcement of Legends: Arceus. It's a Fire / Rock-type Pokemon with strong physical and special attack stats, though falls a little short in both the speed and defense departments.

Where to Get Hisuian Growlithe

Players can catch Hisuian Growlithe in the Windbreak Stand and Veilstone Cape areas of the Cobalt Coastlands.

Hisuian Arcanine

pokemon-legends-hisuian-arcanine

Hisuian Arcanine is one of the best Pokemon in Legends: Arceus due to its strength as a physical attacker. Like Hisuian Growlithe, it's a Fire / Rock-type Pokemon, which makes it an excellent counter for Flying, Fairy, and Normal-types as well as other Fire-type Pokemon.

Where to Get Hisuian Arcanine

Hisuian Arcanine evolves from Hisuian Growlithe when exposed to a Fire Stone.

Hisuian Voltorb

pokemon-legends-hisuian-voltorb

Hisuian Voltorb's design may be a little lackluster and its stats aren't all that great either, but it being an Electric / Grass-type can certainly have its advantages. It's particularly effective against Ground and Water-type Pokemon, making it useful for the early stages of the game.

Where to Get Hisuian Voltorb

Players can catch Hisuian Voltorb in the Sacred Plaza area of the Coronet Highlands.

Hisuian Electrode

pokemon-legends-hisuian-electrode

Hisuian Electrode's biggest strength is its speed, though it does boast fairly respectable special attack and special defense stats as well. Like its unevolved form, it's weak against Fire and Ice-type attacks, though makes up for this somewhat with its strong resistances to other popular types.

Where to Get Hisuian Electrode

Hisuian Electrode evolves from Hisuian Voltorb when exposed to a Leaf Stone.

Hisuian Typhlosion

pokemon-legends-hisuian-typhlosion

Though some have criticized the quality of its in-game model, few will be disappointed with the attacking potential of Hisuian Typhlosion. The Fire / Ghost-type Pokemon is a strong special attacker with respectable speed and decent defenses to boot. It is worth noting that Hisuian Arcanine is arguably a better choice for those seeking a fire-type, but not by much.

Where to Get Hisuian Typhlosion

Hisuian Typhlosion evolves from Quilava at Level 36. Its unevolved forms can be found in space-time distortions once players have completed the main story.

Hisuian Qwilfish

pokemon-legends-hisuian-qwilfish

Hisuian Qwilfish swaps out its Water typing for Dark, making it the sixth Dark / Poison-type Pokemon to date. It's not a bad physical attacker early on and its Poison Point ability can come in useful at times too. It later evolves into Overqwil, becoming an even better physical attacker in the process.

Where to Get Hisuian Qwilfish

Players can catch Hisuian Qwilfish in the Ramanas Island area of the Obsidian Fieldlands. It also shows up in multiple areas in the Cobalt Coastlands region.

Hisuian Sneasel

Pokemon Legends Hisuian Sneasel

Like Qwilfish, Sneasel is one of the biggest winners of Legends: Arceus; receiving both a new evolution and a regional form in the game. Hisuian Sneasel is a Poison / Fighting-type Pokemon with solid speed and physical attack stats. Its evolution, Sneasler, really excels in these departments, making it a great addition to any Pokemon team.

Where to Get Hisuian Sneasel

Players can catch Hisuian Sneasel near the small body of water southwest of the Primeval Grotto area of the Coronet Highlands.

Hisuian Samurott

pokemon-legends-hisuian-samurott

Hisuian Samurott is the weakest of the three fully evolved starter Pokemon in Legends: Arceus, with its base stat total being lower than both Hisuian Typhlosion and Hisuian Decidueye. It's still a pretty decent attacker though, and a solid choice for anyone looking for a strong Water / Dark-type Pokemon for their team.

Where to Get Hisuian Samurott

Hisuian Samurott evolves from Dewott at Level 36. Its unevolved forms can be found in space-time distortions once players have completed the main story.

Hisuian Lilligant

pokemon-legends-hisuian-lilligant

As a Grass / Fighting type, Hisuian Lilligant boasts some incredibly useful resistances, though will still struggle against Flying-types. Its stats are fairly unexceptional for the most part, although it is slightly above average in both the speed and attack departments.

Where to Get Hisuian Lilligant

Hisuian Lilligant evolves from Petilil when exposed to a Sun Stone. Players can catch Petilil in the Cottonsedge Prarie area in the Crimson Mirelands.

Hisuian Basculin

pokemon-legends-hisuian-basculin

Abilities aside, Hisuian Basculin is more or less identical to its regular counterpart in all but appearance. Both Pokemon are Water-types with 460 base stat totals that lean towards attack and speed. Where they differ, however, is that the Hisuian variant can evolve into the brand-new Pokemon Basculegion, which players can use as a mode of transport in Legends: Arceus.

Where to Get Hisuian Basculin

Players can catch Hisuian Basculin in the Tranquility Cove and Islespy Shore areas of the Cobalt Coastlands.

Hisuian Zorua

pokemon-legends-hisuian-zorua

When it comes to base stat totals, Hisuian Zorua is tied with Hisuian Voltorb for the title of worst Hisuian variant. The Normal / Ghost-type Pokemon has only a 330 base stat total and paper-thin defenses to boot. Thankfully, however, its fantastic resistances can mitigate this somewhat, while its second stage evolution gets a huge boost in stats.

Where to Get Hisuian Zorua

Players can catch Hisuian Zorua in the Bonechill Wastes area of the Alabaster Icelands.

Hisuian Zoroark

pokemon-legends-hisuian-zoroark

The Normal / Ghost-type combination is an incredibly effective one, with only Dark-type attacks able to deal more than regular damage. In return for this single weakness, it grants complete immunity to Fighting and Normal-type attacks and a 50% reduction to all Poison and Bug-type moves. This, combined with Hisuian Zoroark's high speed and attack stats, makes it an excellent counter for many of the series' best Pokemon.

Where to Get Hisuian Zoroark

Hisuian Zoroark evolves from Hisuian Zorua at Level 30.

Hisuian Braviary

pokemon-legends-hisuian-braviary

Those looking for a decent Flying-type Pokemon could do a lot worse than Hisuian Braviary. It's a Psychic / Flying-type with a huge special attack stat, making it a great counter for Ground and Fighting-type attackers. It also functions as a mode of transport, with players able to fly and glide from one location to the next with its help.

Where to Get Hisuian Braviary

Hisuian Braviary evolves from Rufflet at Level 54. Player can catch Rufflet in the Lake Acuity and Heart's Crag areas of the Alabaster Icelands.

Hisuian Sliggoo

pokemon-legends-hisuian-sliggoo

Unlike its regular form, Hisuian Sliggoo is geared more towards special attack than physical. It's also a Dragon / Steel-type rather than a pure Dragon-type Pokemon, which mixes up its resistances and weaknesses quite a bit. Despite these changes, it remains an effective Grass-type counter and can now hold its own against Poison-types too thanks to its total immunity.

Where to Get Hisuian Sliggoo

Hisuian Sliggoo evolves from Goomy at Level 40. It can also be caught in the Holm of Trials area of the Crimson Mirelands and the Ancient Quarry area of the Coronet Highlands.

Hisuian Goodra

pokemon-legends-hisuian-goodra

Hisuian Goodra is arguably the best Hisuian Pokemon in Legends: Arceus, though is let down a little by its typing. To be clear, Dragon / Steel is far from a bad type combination, and, together with its high defense stats, makes Hisuian Goodra an excellent tank. Unfortunately, however, Dialga arguably offers a much better alternative, particularly now that it has an Origin form as well.

Where to Get Hisuian Goodra

Hisuian Goodra evolves from Hisuian Sliggoo at Level 50, though only while it's raining.

Hisuian Avalugg

pokemon-legends-hisuian-avalugg

Hisuian Avalugg's 184 defense stat is one of the highest in Legends: Arceus and its 127 attack stat isn't too bad either. The Ice / Rock-type can therefore be incredibly useful as a physical tank, especially if players are able to effectively utilize its abilities. It may be slow, but when up against physical attackers, this really shouldn't be an issue.

Where to Get Hisuian Avalugg

Hisuian Avalugg evolves from Bergmite at Level 37. Players can catch Bergmite in the Arena's Approach area of the Alabaster Icelands.

Hisuian Decidueye

pokemon-legends-hisuian-decidueye

The third and final regional starter evolution, Hisuian Decidueye is a Grass / Fighting-type Pokemon with reasonably well-balanced stats. Despite being a little slow when compared to the other two Hisuian starter evolutions, it's able to boast the highest attack and special defense stats of the trio. It's incredibly weak to Flying-type attacks though, which seems a little ironic given its earlier forms.

Where to Get Hisuian Decidueye

Hisuian Decidueye evolves from Dartrix at Level 34. Its unevolved forms can be found in space-time distortions once players have completed the main story.
