Pokemon Legends: Arceus received a brand-new trailer this month giving fans a look at what they can expect to find in the Hisui Region. In the trailer, several new and returning Pokemon were featured, adding to the ever-growing roster players can expect to find when the game launches in a few months. While some of the Pokemon in the trailer have been showcased before, there are some making their first confirmed appearance, including a new evolution for the popular Bug-type Pokemon Scyther.

As some might imagine, many of the Pokemon showcased in the trailer were originally introduced with the Sinnoh region in Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl, though there are some others from various regions as well. In addition to old Pokemon returning for Pokemon Legends: Arceus, players also get a good look once again at Basculegion, Wyrdeer, and the Hisuian Forms of Braviary and Growlithe. Here is every Pokemon (in Pokedex order) that appeared in the latest Pokemon Legends: Arceus trailer.

In total, 44 Pokemon make an appearance in this trailer in some capacity, with all but five being returning Pokemon in their original forms. Growlithe and Braviary both make an apperance in their Hisuian forms, and Basculegion and Wyrdeer also make a return. It's clear that Basculegion, Wyrdeer, and Braviary will play a big role in Pokemon Legends: Arceus when it comes to navigating the Hisui region, as it seems these Pokemon are constantly featured carrying trainers on their backs (or their talons in Braviary's case). It's currently unknown if riding Pokemon is limited to a select few, or if many Pokemon can carry players around, but at the moment it seems these three will be tasked with helping players navigate around Hisui.

Other New Features

Also in the new Pokemon Legends: Arceus trailer, players were introduced to several features for the upcoming title. Players got a quick look at character customization with Jubilife Village's hairdresser and clothier. Players will have no shortage of outfits to try on and hairstyles to showcase in-game, if the trailer is to be believed. Viewers also learned that Pokemon Legends: Arceus will feature a crafting system that allows players to create not only Poke Balls, but other unique items to help in their journey to compelte the first Pokedex.

As mentioned, a brand-new evolution of Scyther was introduced alongside the announcement of Noble Pokemon, which appear more like boss fights than traditional Pokemon battles. In the trailer, the player can be seen dodging around Kleaver, who is radiating a radiant gold aura. Players will need to throw balms made from the Pokemon's favorite food at the Noble Pokemon to calm it down.

Lastly, players got their first look at Hisui's Wardens, who are tasked with protecting certain special Pokemon. Mai protects a special Wyrdeer that is found near the Obsidian Fieldlands; Lian oversees Kleavor, the one that has started rampaging in the trailer; Iscan oversees a special Basculegion; and Arezu oversees a "certain lady Pokemon" that is currently not specified. It is unclear if these are related to the Wyrdeer and Basculegion the player is seen navigating with, but these Wardens could be how the player unlocks navigation abilities. Players will just have to wait and see the role these Wardens play in the bigger picture of Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

Overall, the new Pokemon Legends: Arceus trailer was jam-packed with returning Pokemon as well as gameplay details for the highly anticipated open-world Pokemon title. As the game's release date approaches, more and more details are coming to light about what players can expect with this new direction the Pokemon series is taking. Hopefully, more trailers are on the way to keep fans satiated while they await the game's release.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus will release exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on January 28, 2022.
