For those players that are having trouble figuring out how to transform Rotom in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, or anyone who simply wants to know where they can catch Rotom, this guide has all of the details that they will need.

Updated June 5, 2022, by Tom Bowen: Rotom is a little bit like Eevee in the sense that it can take on multiple forms depending on the actions of the player. This makes it one of the most versatile Pokemon around, as it effectively has access to seven of the sixteen different types depending on its form. Better still, unlike with Eevee, players are never locked into a particular Rotom form, meaning that they can always change things up if they get bored or feel as though their Rotom's current form isn't quite up to the task at hand. Though still relatively straightforward, the method for changing Rotom's form in Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a little different than it is in earlier Pokemon games, with players now needing to get their hands on special Mechanical items in order to make Rotom transform. Here's where to find them all, how much they cost, and the pros and cons of each Rotom form.

Where to Find Rotom in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Players that are looking to catch Rotom in Pokemon Legends: Arceus should head over to the Summit Camp in the Coronet Highlands. From this location, they should travel southeast toward the Sacred Plaza. They should encounter a number of Rotom along their path. If they don't, they can simply go back to Pokemon Legends: Arceus's Jubilife Village and then return to the Coronet Highlands, repeating this process until they ultimately spot a Rotom.

How to Get Every Rotom Form in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

In order to transform Rotom, players will need to purchase Mechanical items from Pokemon Legends: Arceus's Ginter, a merchant that sits by a cart in front of Galaxy Hall in Jubilife Village. Ginter sells a total of five different Mechanical items, and he makes them available one-at-a-time and randomly. As such, players that want to unlock all of Rotom's forms will need to speak with the merchant frequently, buying Mechanical items whenever the opportunity to do so presents itself.

Upon purchasing a Mechanical item, the appliance will appear in a player's Quarters in Jubilife Village, and interacting with it will initiate Rotom's transformation. For full clarity, the following list details exactly how the Mechanical items in Pokemon Legends: Arceus alter Rotom, and it should help players keep track of the Gen 4 Pokemon's different forms:

  • Mechanical Box: Heat Rotom
  • Mechanical Tub: Wash Rotom
  • Mechanical Cabinet: Frost Rotom
  • Mechanical Pinwheel: Fan Rotom
  • Mechanical Circular Saw: Mow Rotom

To note, these Mechanical items become quite expensive, increasing in cost with each purchase. It is thus recommended that players that are set on obtaining all of Rotom's forms put some real effort toward stockpiling Pokedollars first. Indeed, Pokemon Legends: Arceus fans that do not follow this advice may find themselves in a situation where Ginter has a Mechanical item to sell, but they simply do not have the funds that are needed to purchase it.

How Much Do the Mechanical Items Cost in Pokemon Legends: Arceus?

As the order in which Mechanical Items become available is completely random, there isn't a fixed price for each item. Instead, the cost per item increases in increments of 20,000 Pokedollars, with the fifth and final Mechanical Item clocking in at a hefty 100,000. This means that in order to purchase all five Mechanical Items, players will need to spend a grand total of 300,000 Pokedollars, so players hoping to unlock every Rotom form should keep this in mind before making any other big purchases or fully expanding their inventory space.

The following table will highlight some of the most important ones, as well as suggest the best nature for each form.
