Since Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes place in ancient Sinnoh, it's only natural that the Pokemon from Diamond & Pearl would make an appearance in Hisui. The Fourth Generation brought in new evolutions for Pokemon from previous regions and even continued the trend of having Pokemon in different forms. Since Pokemon Legends: Arceus features the very first Pokedex, however, there's a lot of misunderstanding about Pokemon among the residents of Jubilife Village.

Request 73 is a sidequest that unlocks between the end of Mission 11 and Mission 12, though only if players have caught a Burmy. If these requirements are met, then they can take Request 73 from the blackboard in Laventon's office. Leif, the quest giver, can be found to the south of Jubilife Village's Farm. There, he can be seen arguing with two other villagers about Burmy's "true form." If players speak with him, the trio will ask to see all three forms of Burmy as well as Burmy's completed Pokedex entry.

Where to Find All Three Types of Burmy

Just like in Diamond & Pearl, Burmy can only be found on "shaking trees." Luckily, Pokemon Legends: Arceus doesn't have the Honey item, so all players need to do is have their Pokemon attack a "shaking tree" and hope that a Burmy falls out. They should remember that the villagers want to see Burmy's different forms and not Wormadam's, so it's better to refrain from evolving any of the Burmy until Request 73 has been completed.

Plant Cloak Burmy

Plant Cloak Burmy can be found in the Deertrack Heights area of the Obsidian Fieldlands. After players defeat Mai and her Munchlax, they'll be able to explore most of the fieldlands. While traveling up the path to Deertrack Heights, there's a hill to the left with a tree that occasionally shakes with a Pokemon. Players will know they're at the right place if they see Stantler roaming around. Of course, this is just one of many trees in the Obsidian Fieldlands that may spawn a Burmy. If players don't have any luck here, they'll have to search around until they find one.

Sandy Cloak Burmy

Sandy Cloak Burmy can be found on the trees in the Crimson Mirelands. There are more trees to the south of the Crimson Mirelands' first camp in the Golden Lowlands. Another good place to look for the Sandy Cloak Burmy is at Cloudpool Ridge, which is northwest of the Diamond Clan Settlement.

Trash Cloak Burmy

Finally, the pink, trash cloak Burmy is located as early as the Cobalt Coastlands. The recommended places to look for the Trash Cloak Burmy are at Ginkgo Landing and the Bathers' Lagoon. These areas can both be reached without Basculegion.

Completing Burmy's Pokedex Entry

Unfortunately, even after showing all three NPCs the different Burmy, they're still convinced that "heir Burmy form is the correct Burmy. Leif will ask to see Burmy's completed Pokedex entry, so if this hasn't been done yet, players should take a look at its Research Tasks.

Any of Burmy's Research Tasks marked with a red arrow indicates a Bonus Research Task. Completing one of these will give players two Research points instead of one. Players may notice that they can get two points for evolving Burmy three times. As long as Leif and the other villagers have seen the Burmy, it's okay to evolve them to get Research Points. Here are some Research Tasks to complete:

item exchange leaf stone pokemon legends arceus

As thanks for helping him, Leif will give players three pieces of Exp. Candy M and one Leaf Stone. Exp. Candies can be used on whichever Pokemon players want to level up. As for the Leaf Stone, there are a few Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Arceus that can use this evolution stone.

For example, fan-favorite Eevee can evolve into Leafeon when it's exposed to a Leaf Stone. However, a Leaf Stone can also be used to evolve a Hisuian Voltorb. Players should remember that they'll need to catch all of the Pokemon in Legends: Arceus if they want to catch the titular Pokemon in the postgame.

If players want more Leaf Stones, they'll have to spend Merit Points at the Trading Post outside the Galaxy Hall. To get more Exp. Candies, players can either battle/catch Alpha Pokemon, or they can purchase some from the Exp. Candy stall, which is next to the Trading Post. Exp. Candies cost a lot of money, however, so it may not be a good idea to buy too many of them at once. To get more money, players can sell treasures such as Nuggets or Star Shards. They'll also be rewarded with money for catching Pokemon and will receive more money if they have a high Star Rank.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is available on Nintendo Switch.
