One of the things many Pokemon fans are likely looking forward to this January 2021 is the upcoming launch of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Though it may not be the future of mainline Pokemon video games, there is still a lot of fan anticipation revolving around how unique the premise of the title is. To drum up the hype about the game's release even further, The Pokemon Company has released a series of videos online to give interested players a more detailed look at the title’s gameplay and features.

When Pokemon Legends: Arceus was first announced in early 2021, there seemed to be a good mix of reactions within the Pokemon fanbase. Some fans have been skeptical about the game’s deviations from the franchise’s standard monster-catching gameplay, while others were curious and excited to experience a more open-world, faster-paced version of a Pokemon game. Nevertheless, Pokemon Legends: Arceus is still a Pokemon title, and will likely draw in a good number of community members to give the video game a shot.

With only a few weeks left until the launch of Pokemon Legends: Arceus this January 28, 2021, The Pokemon Company recently released a series of promotional videos on Nintendo’s official Japanese YouTube channel. Mostly promoting the new Nintendo Switch OLED, the series consists of one six-minute trailer, and three thirty-second videos that feel like television commericals. Though the videos' voiceover is in Japanese, fans who have been anticipating Arceus are still likely going to appreciate the new footage of the game in the longer trailer.

Obviously looking to entice both Pokemon-obsessed gamers and newcomers to the franchise, the six-minute video provided a more in-depth look at several of the game’s new features. This includes how stealth works in catching Pokemon, the more action-packed Pokemon battles, and the unique areas found in the Hisui region. The trailer also showed how the player can travel in a variety of ways with their Pokemon, whether mounted on ground, flying through the air, and even catching a Pokemon while sailing through bodies of water.

The new Pokemon Legends: Arceus gameplay videos shared by The Pokemon Company are definitely a great way to show off details that fans can expect from the upcoming game. With the title being a spin-off, and promising a very different experience from what most Pokemon video game players are used to, fans are likely hopeful that most reviews and user feedback will be positive after the launch.
