With a whopping total score of 85 out of 100 in its early reviews, Pokemon Legends: Arceus' release has been an overwhelming success, debunking many of the issues that several fans thought it would have. There are also quite a lot of creatures to catch, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus players who want to discover how they can evolve Haunter into Gengar in this new game can use this quick guide to learn how to do just that.

How to Catch Haunter

Haunter and its pre-evolution, Ghastly, do not appear in the starting area of the Obsidian Fieldlands, but they naturally spawn in other areas of the game - and as soon as the Crimson Mirelands. The Crimson Mirelands is the second main area players will gain access to, but they will first need to complete the task of calming the frenzied noble Pokemon Kleavor, Lord of the Woods.

Both Ghastly and Haunter can be found in the Gapejaw Bog, Golden Lowlands, Scarlet Bog, and Shrouded Ruins within the Crimson Mirelands, but only at night - although they will appear under any weather condition. For Pokemon Legends: Arceus trainers who are far ahead into the game, these Pokemon can also be found in the Coronet Highlands and the Alabaster Icelands areas - the lands of the fourth and the fifth noble Pokemon, respectively.

How to Evolve Haunter into Gengar

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a revolutionary game for solo players, as it allows trainers to get Gengar both by trading a Haunter with other players, as customary in all mainline games, or use a Linking Cord on it and evolve it completely solo.

The trading method is more straightforward, of course, but it requires someone to trade Haunter with either on Local Communication or via internet, which can be done at Simona's shop in Jubilife Village.

For those who prefer the solo way, they have to get hold of the Linking Cord first, which can be found as random loot while riding Ursaluna, breaking shaking ores in any given area, or purchasing one from Simona's shop. To purchase a Linking Cord players will need a total of 1000 Merit Points, which can be obtained by picking up lost satchels in the overworld.

Once Pokemon Legends: Arceus trainers have a Linking Cord, all they need to do is click on it from their satchel, and then use it on Haunter. This process makes it quite simple to get a Gengar, and it's a fantastic change that should be made a staple of the series.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is available for the Nintendo Switch.
