There are a number of Mythical Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and Darkrai is one that some players will be particularly interested in catching. Before these fans can capture Darkrai, they must first fulfill two prerequisites, though they may be unclear about exactly what those prerequisites are. For those players that would like to catch Darkrai in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, full details on the process can be found in this guide.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus - How to Catch Darkrai

The first step toward capturing Darkrai is to beat Pokemon Legends: Arceus and see the credits roll. While the amount of time that it takes to complete the game will undoubtedly vary from player to player, most can expect to reach the end in around 20 hours. As such, fans should not have too much trouble fulfilling this first requirement, so long as they continue to put time toward beating the title, though that may not be the case with the second requirement.

Specifically, the second requirement is to have a save file from either Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Pokemon Shining Pearl on the same Switch that is being used to play Arceus. Notably, a save that is made at any point during Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl will be sufficient for fulfilling this requirement, including at the very beginning. While this fact may not be of great assistance to those players that do not have access to either of the Pokemon Gen 4 remakes, it does mean that those titles need not be fully completed in order to catch Darkrai in Arceus.

With these two requirements met, fans should head to Jubilife Village, check the blackboard inside Team Galaxy HQ, and accept "The Darksome Nightmare" request that is now available. This request will lead Pokemon Legends: Arceus players to a location that is southeast of Clamberclaw Cliffs in Coronet Highlands, and indeed Darkrai can be found in that position at night. Now all that is left to do is catch the Mythical Pokemon, and that can prove to be a bit tricky.

In order to catch Darkrai, players should attempt to engage it in battle. This requires somewhat precise timing, and fans should throw their Pokemon at Darkrai as soon as it starts to scream to avoid getting stunned. Once the battle has been initiated, players should be able to capture this Mythical Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Arceus with any type of Pokeball that they have at their disposal.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
