Pokemon Legends: Arceus' release is right around the corner, following the launch of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl for the Switch. The semi-open-world Pokemon title is a far departure from the mainline series, offering players vast open areas in an old-school Sinnoh setting (called the Hisui region), taking place many years in the past.

The Pokemon Company put out a new trailer for the game today, going over two other groups in the Hisui region called the Diamond Clan and the Pearl Clan. These two clans' names pay homage to the original Diamond and Pearl games. It also went over some new characters that are the young leaders of these clans, named Adaman and Irida. However, some new info was shared that was not present in the English trailer for Pokemon Legends: Arceus that fans will want to know about.

In the Japanese gameplay footage trailer for Pokemon Legends: Arceus, it was revealed that the Mythical Pokemon Darkrai from the fourth generation of the mainline games will be available for players to add to their battle team. Unfortunately, the Dark-type Pokemon won't be available for just anybody. In order to add Darkrai to the team, Pokemon Legends players will need to have save files on their Switch system from either Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Pokemon Shining Pearl.

If the save file is present, players will be able to take on a research request in Pokemon Legends: Arceus once the credits roll. By having save data from the remakes, fans will also be able to get themselves the Modern Team Galactic clothing set, which includes the Modern Jacket, Modern Trousers, and Modern Shoes. To claim the clothing items, players will need to head to the clothing shop after joining the Galaxy Expedition Team. The Pokemon Company states that it'll take players around one hour of playtime before reaching this point in the story.

While Darkrai was available to players in the original Diamond and Pearl games for the DS, it was only encounterable through special events or getting it through Pokemon Ranger. The Pokemon means no harm to people in the Pokemon universe, but it does protect itself from danger by making people sleep and have terrible nightmares.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus launches for the Nintendo Switch on January 28, 2022.
