Pokemon Legends: Arceus is very close to its release date, but its Pokedex has still not been fully revealed, and many secrets are still being kept by Game Freak and Nintendo. Even with the new 13-minute gameplay trailer for Pokemon Legends: Arceus, no new unannounced Pokemon were showcased, further leaving Noble Pokemon and starter evolutions in a cloud of mystery. However, these videos did allow players to put together what could be the Pokedex for the Hisui region. While many entries are still up in the air in terms of validity, and others are simply part of rumors or leaks from prominent members of the Pokemon community, the potential lineup is interesting.

The fact that all three starters for Pokemon Legends: Arceus have only been shown in their base form constitutes proof that there are plans involving their evolutions, which have been rumored for a while now. Yet, other Hisuian forms or Hisui-exclusive evolutions have been revealed so far, with the former usually being Pokemon that appear in the wild and the latter being Noble Pokemon each associated with one of the Wardens. New evolutions and more regional variants will likely stay in the dark up until the official launch, or at least until Pokemon Legends: Arceus is leaked in its entirety - assuming it eventually does. For now, though, fans are focused on rumored and confirmed Pokemon for the game.

All Confirmed Hisuian and Returning Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

The list of confirmed Pokemon is quite long at this point, but some obvious omissions are still to be disclosed and are included in the rumored Pokemon list. For the most part, Pokemon players will recognize many creatures making a come-back from Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, which does make a lot of sense considering that the region of Hisui is actually the past version of the modern Sinnoh. As such, having Gen 4 Pokemon might seem repetitive for those who did play Pokemon Diamond and Pearl's remakes, but Pokemon Legends: Arceus is also a very different game that delves much more into strategic gameplay.

All Rumored New and Returning Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

pokemon legends arceus starters cyndaquil oshawott rowlet thyphlosion samurott decidueye riddles hisuian forms types counters qwilfish leak brilliant diamond shining pearl

This list is much shorter, but it does include some notable Pokemon, and especially so the final evolution for all three starters of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Some of the rumored new Pokemon have also have their types hypothesized by community members or even leaked by insiders such as the famous Chinese Riddler - now mostly known as Riddler Khu - who shares clues to official information through puzzles. Most of the information listed here is subject to change, but Riddler Khu is especially known for their reliability and the accuracy with which they leak anything Pokemon-related.

This is the list of all rumored new and returning Pokemon:

  • Typhlosion - Hisuian (Rumored to be Fire and Ghost)
  • Samurott - Hisuian (Rumored to be Water and Dark)
  • Decidueye - Hisuian (Rumored to be Grass and Fighting)
  • Cleffa
  • Arcanine - Hisuian (Possibly Fire and Rock)
  • Electrode - Hisuian (Possibly Grass and Electric)
  • Scizor
  • Sylveon
  • Qwilfish - Hisuian (Rumored to be Poison and Dark)
  • Hisuian Qwilfish evolution (Rumored to be Poison and Dark)
  • Sneasel
  • Weavile
  • Sneasel - Hisuian (Rumored to be Poison and Fighting)
  • Hisuian Sneasel evolution (Rumored to be Poison and Fighting)
  • Ursaring evolution / Split Teddiursa evolution (Rumored to be Normal and Ground)
  • Rotom's alternate forms
  • Liligant - Hisuian (Rumored to be Grass and Fighting)
  • Basculin - Hisuian / Alternate form (Rumored to be either a regional variant with Water and Ghost types, or a different form)
  • New "Force of Nature" Pokemon (Rumored to possibly be part of the Gen 5 Weather Trio)
  • Sliggoo - Hisuian
  • Goodra - Hisuian (Rumored to be Dragon and Steel)
  • Avalugg - Hisuian (Rumored to be Ice and Rock)

Overall, the list of new Pokemon and Hisuian forms is very interesting, and if the rumors prove to be true, players are in for a treat. Decidueye's second type is a bit up in the air at the moment, but it makes sense if it is Fighting-type because of Typholosion being Fire/Ghost and Samurott being Water/Dark. Official news is likely coming in the next few days, though, and here's to hoping that the starters' evolutions will be fully shown before launch.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus will release on January 28th exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
