Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fans are eagerly waiting for a new trailer or more information from The Pokemon Company regarding the games, be it something about the starters and their evolutions or what the gameplay is going to look like. Although Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's June trailer did share valuable information about the setting, new Pokemon, and the approach to the open world, players are still completely in the dark about some elements. An example is the region's name, which has not yet been disclosed in the two trailers for Gen 9 games, although they did show Professor Sada and Professor Turo as version-exclusive characters.

A known Pokemon leaker, called Riddler Khu, has been steadily sharing information about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but only in the form of puzzles for the community to solve. A great example comes from Khu hinting at Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's starters and their type combinations when they fully evolve, something that many fans were keen to know beforehand. Still, nothing has surfaced about Gen 9's gimmicks and new systems, but Khu is providing a teaser for those.

One of the new systems that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are going to feature revolves around the flags shown in the June trailer, according to Khu. The flags have fire depicted on them, and they seem to be tied to some form of race, which would make sense considering that Khu has already teased the fact that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Legendaries will be rideable, specifically that they could turn into a motorbike and a jet. This mechanic could mean that players have to reach Gym Leaders across the map with a race, or it could be a way to obtain new Pokemon or general improvements to gameplay.

The sandy tower shown in the same trailer could also hint at something similar to Totem Pokemon from Pokemon Sun and Moon making a comeback in Gen 9. In another tweet, Khu also states that one of the gimmicks in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be used by nearly all NPCs and that another gimmick will instead influence battles in some capacity. The so-called "regional fakes" are also a new concept introduced with Generation 9, but they are seemingly not associated with battles in the same capacity as the major gimmick in the games.

In the same set of leaks, Khu also teased Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Gym Leaders and Elite Four members by stating that they will share types with Pokemon Gyms from Generation 1 and 2 in the case of the former. As for Elite Four, all that Khu said is that they will specialize in types that were already part of the Elite Four challenge in past games.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release on November 18 for Nintendo Switch.
