The long-running Pokemon anime is still on the air, with Pokemon Journeys being the latest version of the series. This anime follows Ash Ketchum and Pikachu like usual with the two being accompanied by a new friend and ally named Goh.

Currently, Pokemon Journeys in the Japanese episode airings is getting close to the end of its arc based on Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. It's not entirely know what's going to be coming next for the show's storylines, but future episode titles have given fans a very exciting hint.

Thanks to Serebii.net moderator and translator, Dephender, multiple upcoming episode titles for the anime have been revealed. This includes episode 46, which has the translated title of "Battling & Getting! The Revival of Mewtwo."

Dephender has noted that there is no released summary of this upcoming episode yet. However, it is pretty clear that Mewtwo is almost certainly going to make a return on November 20th with the airing of the episode.

There are two different Mewtwo that have appeared in the Pokemon anime, with the most well-known one being from the first Pokemon movie. The other was one voiced by a female voice actress that appeared in the Genesect and the Legend Awakened movie. Due to the popularity of the first movie however, the Mewtwo making an appearance in Pokemon Journeys will likely be the original one.

While the first part of the episode title says "Battling and Getting," it seems very unlikely for either Ash or Goh to capture Mewtwo considering the Pokemon's general attitude toward humans even in a reasonable state. However, it is likely that viewers will be able to see this powerful legendary Pokemon in action once more after November comes around.

It's unknown if Mewtwo will be a large part of the upcoming story arc for Pokemon Journeys, but its presence also doesn't seem like something that will only be contained to only one episode of the anime. This could also mean that the more threatening members of Team Rocket could appear, bringing on some high stakes for Ash and Goh to go through in the upcoming anime episodes.

Mewtwo's appearance could also be linked it being able to now appear in Dynamax Adventures in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield's new Crown Tundra expansion DLC. This could also mean that Ash and Goh could be potentially travelling to the Crown Tundra as well in the near future to promote the DLC.

Pokemon Journeys is currently available on Netflix.
