Marina Inoue, best known for her roles voicing My Hero Academia’s Momo Yaoyorozu and Attack on Titan’s Armin Arlert, has quite the resume in the Anime and gaming voice acting industry. The well-known voice actress and singer’s newest endeavor will be in the 27th season of the Pokemon anime series, and fans will be able to see her as soon as next week’s episode, airing July 5th.

Fans of the franchise should recognize Sonia from the newest installment of the main series’ video games, Pokemon Sword and Shield. As the granddaughter and assistant to Professor Magnolia, she plays a large role in the game, guiding the player throughout their journey and educating them on the legends of the Galar region

It’s not yet clear what fans of Pokemon Journeys can expect from Sonia’s role in the television series, but her appearance will most likely have the same motivation as that in Sword and Shield.

The Pokemon franchise has garnered tons of momentum lately, including recently announcing a new Pokemon Snap game for the Nintendo Switch, though a release date has yet to be set.

Pokemon Journeys: The Series is available to watch now on Netflix.
