The Pokemon Company began rolling out a new update to Pokemon Home, bumping the popular mobile app to version 2.1.1. This is a minor patch that tweaks some functionality introduced in the 2.1.0 update for Pokemon Home in early February, although it does add one notable feature that builds on the app's interconnectivity with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

The most notable addition from the last Pokemon Home update was the ability to view Ranked Battle information from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, as well as Pokemon Sword and Shield, using the Battle Data feature. But as far as the app's support for Game Freak's latest Switch RPGs is concerned, most users remain much more interested in the ability to transfer creatures from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to Pokemon Home. That fan-requested feature is expected to arrive in the next major update which Nintendo recently said is coming in a matter of weeks.

In the meantime, the 2.1.1 build of Pokemon Home improves the app's Battle Data section with the ability to view Pokemon Natures from the Ranking screen. According to the succinct patch notes, this information appears to be limited to Ranked Battles from Season 4 or newer. The logged values also account for Pokemon whose Natures were changed with a Mint, although there's no way to tell if a listed Nature was altered from the app, as per the developers.

Another change introduced with the Pokemon Home 2.1.1 update pertains to the app's handling of Mystery Gifts. Namely, the feature now requires a Nintendo Account login in order to enforce a limit of one of each Mystery Gifts per profile, which was previously only a prerequisite for the Switch version of the app. Pokemon Home 2.1.1 patch notes also mention the introduction of unspecified bug fixes meant to improve the overall user experience.

The 2.1.1 update for Pokemon Home landed on the iOS App Store on March 2. Although the Android version surfaced on the same day, a review of country-specific Play Store listings suggests it is still in the process of rolling out globally as of March 3.

While Nintendo recently confirmed that creature transfers from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are coming to Pokemon Home, the company has yet to commit to a more specific release window than "early 2023." That vague timing frustrated a vocal portion of the Pokemon fandom, not least because it was only disclosed fairly late in "early 2023" as it is, during a February 27 Pokemon Presents event.

Update 2.1.1 Patch Notes

  • Added Online Competitions information from Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet to the Battle Data feature.
  • If you've linked Pokemon HOME to a Nintendo Account with data from Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet, you'll now be able to view results from Official Competitions and Friendly Competitions you've joined in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet.

Notes:

  • You may view Pokemon Natures in Ranked Battles from Season 4 onward.
  • If a listed Pokemon had a mint used on it, the Nature conferred by the mint will be shown.
  • Linking a Nintendo Account is now required to use the Mystery Gifts feature.
  • Each Mystery Gift can only be claimed once per Nintendo Account.
  • Other issues have also been addressed in order to ensure a user-friendly experience.
