Fan art regularly transcends one franchise or genre, allowing video game fans to seamlessly blend popular IPs together. That's no different with a recent Halo-inspired Pokemon fan art which features a Pokemon region built onto a Halo rings floating in space.

This Pokemon fan art was created by Jesse Martin and posted to Reddit. It shows several villages that would look at home in any Pokemon game in a floating Halo ring. Jesse Martin has also portrayed other franchises through his art such as World of Warcraft, One Piece, Dragon Ball, and Naruto.

The Pokemon villages in Martin's fan art are separated by vast oceans, similar to what can be found in the third-gen Pokemon games' Hoenn region. This Halo ring shows more little islands than big routes that most Pokemon games feature, with clouds hovering tightly above. Some of these islands are populated with houses visible from space, but some are left bare as patches of land dotting the ocean. The puffy clouds add more of the Pokemon aesthetic and bring movement and life to the ring.

Martin's Halo-inspired fan art has received over 27,000 upvotes on Reddit as of this writing, with hundreds of comments accumulating since it was posted on May 12. The post has also received several Reddit awards including the Gold Award, Helpful Award, Hugz Award, and Wholesome Award. Given the fact that Martin's Halo ring is mostly composed of water, many of the comments take time to ridicule a classic IGN game review of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire that stated that the games had "too much water."

Some people in the comments compare this Halo-inspired Pokemon region to both the Hoenn and Galar regions, but it's an actually genuinely new Pokemon map created by Martin. Fan art has explored Pokemon regions as a straight line before rather than the expansive experiences many of them are, but this example of a Pokemon region on a ring is unique. While many fans of Halo might not be inclined to play the next Pokemon game, it's clear that Redditors appreciate the combination of two very uniquely distinct franchises. Considering Halo Infinite and Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will both release later this year, Martin has come up with a great combination of the two franchises to be celebrated, similar to Doom-inspired Animal Crossing fan art last year.
