Fan art has been a staple for the Pokemon franchise since its initial release back in 1996 and each new title in the series inspires more unique art. One Pokemon fan has decided to imagine what the robust Goldenrod City in Pokemon Gold and Silver would look like with much more details thrown in while maintaining the retro aesthetic.

Twitter user Dewndeym recently posted a Pokemon Gold and Silver Goldenrod City fan art which has garnered the attention of many Pokemon fans online. Unlike the Goldenrod City featured in Pokemon Gold and Silver, Dewndeym's fan art imagines the city with more realistic details like electrical wires connecting the various buildings, air ventilators atop each structure, and satellite dishes in some specific locations. There are four billboards hidden around Dewndeym's fan art and they each fittingly advertise Pokemon-related goods and locations.

Dewndeym has gone beyond adding small details to Pokemon Gold and Silver's Goldenrod City with their fan art as multiple buildings in the city have been revamped to reflect their interiors better. The Goldenrod City Pokemon Gym, for example, has been made far more colorful, and it includes the sprite art of Gym leader Whitney as well as a Jigglypuff sitting on the roof which suggests the Pokemon-type the Gym revolves around. There's also a hint at one of Whitney's three Pokemon in the Goldenrod City fan art which highlights a Clefairy painting on the top floor of the Department Store.

Eagle-eyed Pokemon fans will be able to notice some small Pokemon sprites in Dewndeym's fan art as a flock of Yanma fly through the sky towards the bottom of the piece, near the Yanma is a Mantine being followed by six Remoraid. Above this group of Pokemon in Dewndeym's Goldenrod City fan art is a Tentacool floating in the water near some rocks and a surfing Pikachu which is located near the Radio Tower. The Radio Tower itself has been changed to represent the real one located in Osaka, Japan, and it has Team Rocket's insignia all over it.

The Goldenrod City Game Corner and Magnet Train Station have been drastically altered in Dewndeym's fan art, with the Train Station getting the biggest overhaul and the Game Corner featuring language familiar to most Casinos. In front of the Radio Tower, Team Rocket is battling Pokemon Crystal protagonist Kris, pitting a Golbat against what appears to be a Totodile. While many Goldenrod City NPCs remain in Dewndeym's fan art, the piece includes many more which makes it come off like more of a city.
