Lots of fun was had for Pokemon GO players during this past weekend's event. Pokemon GO Fest 2021 was filled with tasks, challenges, and raids for players to participate in with many being able to collect plenty of rare Pokemon and items.

During the second day of Pokemon GO Fest 2021, players took part in special raids that had many legendary Pokemon up for battle and possible capture. One of the Pokemon that could have been caught during the Thunder Raid Hours was Zekrom, the box-art legendary from Pokemon White.

Zekrom is a legendary dual Dragon and Electric-type Pokemon. This makes it weak to Fairy, Dragon, Ground, and Ice-type moves while resisting damage from Steel, Water, Grass, Flying, Fire, and Electric-type moves. It currently doesn't have a shiny form available within Pokemon GO.

While being a legendary Pokemon, Zekrom's move pool isn't too large compared to those of other Pokemon. Despite this, there are still options for it that may confuse some players when it comes to figuring out which combination is best.

The two quick moves that Zekrom can learn are Dragon Breath and Charge Beam. Dragon Breath is a Dragon-type move that deals a base damage of six and builds eight energy toward a charge move per second. It however can be executed quickly and garners 14.4 base damage per second. Charge Beam meanwhile is an Electric-type move that has the base damage of eight and builds 13.6 energy per toward a charge move. Still, due to it being a bit slower than Dragon Breath, it deals 8.7 damage per second.

While Dragon Breath does more damage initially, players will want to choose Charge Beam as the quick move for their Zekrom. The key to Zekrom is building up its charge move, so the lost damage from using Charge Beam will be more than made up once the charge move hits.

For Zekrom's charge move, there are four different options to choose from. These moves are Flash Cannon, Wild Charge, Outrage, and Crunch, but they can be easily narrowed down to choosing between Wild Charge and Outrage. This is because these are the only two moves that offer a same time attack bonus to Zekrom, giving it the damage edge it needs.

Wild Charge is an Electric-type move that deals the base damage of 90. Meanwhile, Outrage is a Dragon-type move that deals 110 base damage. This may make it seem that Outrage is the correct choice, but this once again comes down to energy consumption. Wild Charge costs less energy to use than Outrage, causing it to deal 41.5 damage per second while Outrage deals 33.8 damage per second.

All in all, the best moveset for Zekrom has it knowing Charge Beam as its quick move and Wild Charge as its charge move. These can be taught to Zekrom via TM items if the player's Zekrom doesn't already know these moves.
