Fans of Pokemon GO currently have the opportunity to encounter Zarude, the Rogue Monkey Pokemon through a series of Special Research Tasks. However, the "Search for Zarude!" Special Research Tasks won't be active for much longer, meaning that Pokemon GO players are running out of time to capture this limited-time Pokemon.

The Pokemon GO Zarude Special Research Tasks are available to claim from October 1-10, 2021, after which fans will be able to complete them at any time. This may give fans who lack time, or Pokeballs, the chance to gather up more resources and polish their throwing skills before taking on the new Mythical Pokemon.

Zarude starred in the recent film Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle, which is scheduled to be released in the west during the Pokemon GO "Search for Zarude!" event period. It is a dual Dark and Grass-type Pokemon released as part of the eighth generation of Pokemon games, so its arrival in Pokemon GO positions it as one of the few Gen 8 Pokemon available in the game. Players who want to get their hands on this Mythical addition will have to start the Special Research Tasks before Sunday, October 10 at 8 PM local time.

Fans of Zarude may have already encountered it in Pokemon Sword and Shield, where it could be acquired through event codes like other Mythical Pokemon. Zarude is the first Mythical Pokemon in the Gen 8 games and was originally revealed as part of the Pokemon Day 2020 celebrations. The new Pokemon's signature move is Jungle Healing and it's clearly modeled after monkeys and other primates in design, so it may not be a surprise to hear that the Special Research Tasks associated with it in Pokemon GO are also jungle-themed.

During the event, players will be able to encounter a variety of Pokemon featured in Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle, including Hoothoot, Combee, Drilbur, Cottonee, Dwebble, Larvitar, and Explorer Pikachu in the wild. Clearing the "Search for Zarude!" Special Research Tasks will unlock a variety of rewards, including several Grass and Bug-type Pokemon. Additionally, Pokemon GO players will be able to accept and clear Exclusive Field Research Tasks during the event period, most of which will reward gamers with Pokemon that might make the jungle their home. These reward Pokemon include Audino, which grants bonus Stardust per catch, as well as Rufflet, Exeggcute, Dwebble, Diglet, and Pidove.

Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS devices.
