The majority of the Winter Holiday Part 1 Field Research tasks fall into one of two groups. The first of those groups focuses on catching Pokemon, and an emphasis is placed upon catching Ice-type Pokemon. Fortunately, several of Pokemon GO's Ice-type Pokemon have increased spawn rates for the Winter Holiday event, which should make it quite easy to complete these types of tasks.

The second group is all about Gifts, and it is composed of tasks that instruct players to both send and receive them. While these tasks are not particularly difficult to complete, they do require fans to be acquainted with other active Pokemon GO players. For those players that may not meet that requirement, the PokemonGoFriends Subreddit is a good place to exchange Trainer codes and get help on these tasks.

With respect to the rewards that can be earned by completing these event-exclusive Field Research tasks, players may be happy to see that there are an abundance of Pokemon encounters being offered. Notably, almost all the Pokemon that can be encountered through these tasks have a chance to be Shiny, though the odds of that occurring are 1 in 450. The exception here is Crabrawler, a Pokemon that debuted during the recent Mythic Blade event in Pokemon GO and is not currently available as a Shiny.

Pokemon GO is available on Android and iOS devices.
