Pokemon GO's latest Legendary Raid Boss rotation takes place today and brings Terrakion into the spotlight, while giving players the change to encounter a shiny version of the popular creature. That isn't the only Legendary that Battle Raid fans have on the mind today though...

This evening's Pokemon GO Raid Hour is going to offer trainers a chance to encounter Virizion in nearly every Gym on the nearby radar for a special hour of raiding. The Raid Hour events had been cancelled for most of last month, but recently returned with the help of Remote Raid Passes.

Trainers who want to breeze through the Raid Hour and complete as many challenges as possible in the 60 minute timespan will need to have a very strong roster of Pokemon prepared. To help with that, consult this list of the most effective Pokemon GO counters for Virizion.

Keep in mind that Virizion is a Grass/Fighting-type, so it is going to be extra weak to Flying-type counters. That is what players will really want to focus on while constructing a counter roster.

Moltres

Moltres - Wing Attack/Sky Attack

Rayquaza - Air Slash/Aerial Ace

Honchkrow - Peck/Sky Attack

Tornadus - Air Slash/Hurricane

Unfezant - Air Slash/Sky Attack

Mewtwo - Confusion/Psystrike

Tornadus (Therian) - Air Slash/Hurricane

Lugia - Extrasensory/Sky Attack

Togekiss - Air Slash/Aerial Ace

Zapdos - Thunder Shock/Drill Peck

Braviary - Air Slash/Brave Bird

Staraptor - Wing Attack/Brave Bird

Reshiram - Fire Fang/Overheat

Yanmega - Wing Attack/Aerial Ace

Volcarona - Fire Spin/Hurricane

Latios - Zen Headbutt/Psychic

There are lots of other acceptable counters, but players who want to get through the fight with the least resistance should try hard to power up some of these meta-relevant Pokemon for the highest DPS possible.

For now, players may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
