Halloween festivities are currently in the process of taking over Pokemon GO, but it won't be long until a new month of events roll out and lead into the rest of the holiday season for the mobile AR game. November is sure to include a handful of events in addition to the usual Community Day to help all players celebrate the late fall, but one particular event early in the month is going to be exclusive to Verizon customers.

Sponsored events aren't anything new to Pokemon GO players, but it's always exciting when a new one rolls around. This particular event takes place on November 7 and features some exciting timed research with a powerful Mega Energy reward, but the catch is that trainers need to be a Verizon user to be eligible for the ticket.

Events like this can cause some frustration for players who may feel left out, but luckily there are no rewards that other players haven't had plenty of chances to obtain. The most exciting bounty up for grabs on the special day is likely the 100 Charizard Mega Energy. That amount of Mega Energy can be obtained a number of different ways, but this seems like a very easy way to pick up a quick stockpile of the valuable resource.

Event Description

Starting today, October 20, 2020, eligible Verizon users anywhere in the United States will be able to obtain tickets for an exclusive event: the Special Weekend. Trainers who are subscribed to Verizon mobile plans will be able to obtain a ticket by signing in to the Verizon Up app. Tickets are limited to one per Trainer account and will be available until the event day, on November 7.

The tickets provide Trainers access to the event-exclusive Timed Research and special Pokémon attracted to Incense on Saturday, November 7, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time anywhere in the United States. When they redeem their tickets, Trainers will receive an exclusive event medal.

How to get a ticket for the Verizon special weekend

To obtain a Special Weekend ticket, be sure to sign in to the Verizon Up rewards program app with your Verizon ID or mobile phone number. Only one ticket can be redeemed per Pokémon GO account. Codes are personal and cannot be transferred. If you're eligible, unlock your tickets here.

Tickets will be available in the Verizon Up app for eligible Verizon users from Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at 6:00 a.m. PDT (GMT −7) to Saturday, November 7, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. PST (GMT −8).

After claiming your tickets through Verizon, Trainers need to redeem them on the Niantic Redemption portal, from October 20, 2020, at 6:00 a.m. PDT (GMT −7), to November 7, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. PST (GMT −8). Redeem the codes on the Niantic Redemption portal to unlock them in the Pokemon GO app.

Pokemon GO players who are already Verizon customers should definitely take advantage of this opportunity and login to the Verizon Up app to claim their ticket during the current window. The event seems like a great way to pick up some strong rewards and Timed Research is always a fun way to spend a weekend in the mobile AR game.

For now, Pokemon GO trainers should be able to head out into the world (or play from home) and continue catching the best Unova Pokemon in the game and getting closer to that complete Pokedex. Check back for more Pokemon GO updates closer to the event. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
