Pokemon GO players are just two short days away from the first ever two-day Community Day weekend event. This month puts Eevee in the spotlight and the featured Pokemon will have a three hour window on both Saturday and Sunday, when players can catch tons of the normal-Type and hopefully even secure a handful of shiny spawns to evolve.

The Eevee evolution is unique in that the Gen 1 creature can evolve into a handful of different powerful Pokemon. There are a few tricks to control this evolution, but for the most part it is random. This gives players the unique opportunity to secure a bigger variety of shinies on Community Day than they are usually able to.

The 3D models for the game have been updated and fans can now get a better look at how the shiny version of each Eevee evolution will look. Check them out right here...

Eevee and its many evolutions are fan favorites so this is sure to be one of the most popular Community Day weekends yet. There were initially some rumors that new Evolution items might be released to control the Eevee evolutions, but so far we haven't seen any evidence of that. Unfortunately, it looks like it might just be luck of the draw for players who want to evolve during the exclusive move window and earn a particular evolution.

One nice perk is that Pokemon GO players are able to evolve and earn the exclusive move, Last Resort, until 1pm PT on Monday this time around. Usually this evolution needs to happen during the event, but this change means players can spend the whole event just catching Pokemon and not worrying about appraisals or evolutions.

We'll continue to monitor for updates and see if any other Community Day surprises are on the way. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
