As expected, Pokemon GO released a few new shiny creatures to celebrate this month's Battle Showdown event. The new shiny fighters are now a part of the exclusive list of special rare spawns offered in the mobile AR game. For the completionists out there, that means the hunt is on.

Shiny pokemon don't have any special abilities or stats and are only aesthetically different. Pokemon GO players still love the thrill of chasing them down during Community Days and special events and acquiring one (or three if you're hardcore) copies of each shiny is a major goal for many players.

For trainers who want to double check their collection and see how close they are, here's an updated graphic featuring every shiny that has been released in the game. Most can technically still be caught in the wild even if their event is over, though shiny Lugia is obviously only available to spawn when its raid is in rotation.

The list of available shiny monsters got off to a slow start, but now it's a bit overwhelming. A small handful of shiny variants seem to be released with each new event, giving players some serious motivation to catch as many event pokemon as possible during increased spawn windows.

Although last year players complained about event fatigue, due to constant Battle Raid focused events, this new approach seems to be working better for the average player. Each event has something to offer both serious and casual players and Niantic seems to be onto a winning formula.

Good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is currently available in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
