Several days ago during Pokemon GO Fest 2018, the developer Niantic added the Unown form “?” to the widely beloved augmented reality title which means that the game now includes all 28 different forms of the rare Pocket Monster. Now, it appears as if fans of the mobile release attending San Diego Comic-Con 2018 are in luck if they're missing some of the Unown versions, as PoGO is spawning the creature at high rates during the event.

Although Niantic decided to cancel its panel for San Diego Comic-Con 2018 about a week ahead of the pop culture expo, the developer still decided to give Pokemon GO fans a unique treat by increasing the chances of a Unown being nabbed. However, it seems as if the only variants of the creature spawning in the area during this weekend will spell out the city in which the convention is being held – that is, S-A-N-D-I-E-G-O.

While many will definitely enjoy the fact that Niantic is rewarding Pokemon GO fans for attending San Diego Comic-Con with the increased spawn rates for Unown, it's safe to say that plenty of folks will still be disappointed by the developer's absence at this year's event. As it so happens, the studio has used the annual expo to unveil lots of juicy details about content on the way for PoGO, for in 2016, Niantic teased what was then big news – the addition of Legendary Pokemon. Unfortunately, it looks as if this year's event won't have much in the way of major reveals for the game.

Taking all of this into consideration, it will be interesting to see what else Niantic has in store for Pokemon GO in the future. The developer has provided a nearly constant amount of updates ever since the mobile ARG released back in the summer of 2016, and with Hanke having recently said that he wants the game to be a "lifetime experience" for players, it's safe to presume that there will be plenty more surprises on the way.

Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS devices.
