The Unova Celebration is here, which means that Pokemon GO trainers have a week to take advantage of increased spawns and special Battle Raid bosses to help fill in any empty spaces in the Unova section of the Pokedex. There are a lot of great features to enjoy during the event and some decent exclusive tasks and rewards to go along with them.

Although there is not a full timed research chain to work through as part of this Pokemon GO event, there are some standalone event tasks that are in the rotation as long as the event is live. A handful of the limited time tasks include item rewards, but the others do include encounters with either the Unova starters or Ferroseed, which can also help players complete their Unova Collection Challenge.

The four event tasks that have been confirmed are all fairly simple and should be very easy for players of any level to complete. Catching and hatching Pokemon is likely something players will be doing anyway just by participating in the event and using Berries and Golden Razz Berries to help catch Pokemon is a pretty common activity anyway, especially if players are taking the time to throw down against Genesect or the Mega Raid bosses this week. Those encounters will likely reward additional Golden Razz Berries and offer good motivation to use the powerful catching tools.

All Unova Celebration Event Exclusive Field Tasks

Catch 5 Pokémon - Tepig, Snivy, or Oshawott

Hatch 2 Eggs - Ferroseed

Use 5 Berries to help catch Pokémon - 1200 Stardust

Use 3 Golden Razz Berries to help catch Pokémon - 3500 Stardust

It's possible that other tasks will pop up as the event continues, but for now those seem to be the only changes to the January 2021 Field Task list that players have been able to spot. There's lots of other activities to partake in this week to stay busy throughout the Unova Celebration, so be sure to take advantage of those special spawns while they are active and fill in as much of that Pokedex as possible before the event wraps up on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

As trainers continue working through these amazing events and enjoying the new era of the GO Beyond update, they may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
