There isn't much time left for players to participate in Pokemon GO's Unova Celebration Event. In order to make the most of it, players can take on the Unova Collection Challenge, where they will be asked to catch various Pokemon from the Unova region.

While certain Pokemon spawning for the Unova Collection Challenge may be easy to find in Pokemon GO, others aren't as easy. One of these is Ferroseed, a dual Grass and Steel-type Pokemon that evolves into Ferrothorn.

For many, Ferroseed may be the last Pokemon they need to complete the Unova Collection Challenge before time is up. By completing the Unova Collection Challenge, players will get 3,000 stardust, 30 PokeBalls, and five pieces of Rare Candy.

Pokemon GO Ferroseed

The most consistent way of finding and catching Ferroseed is by encountering one via field research task rewards. There are multiple event-exclusive field research tasks currently available from spinning PokeStops that offer Pokemon encounters as rewards. The task that offers a Ferroseed encounter as a reward is the "Hatch Two Eggs" task. By spinning as many PokeStops as possible while completing these tasks, players will more likely than not eventually encounter a Ferroseed.

Players wanting to hatch eggs to complete this task as quickly as possible are recommended to use their incubators on the lowest km eggs as possible. They will also need to make sure that they have gotten the field research task from a PokeStop beforehand so they don't put in the effort without getting their intended reward.

Ferroseed can also be encountered in the overworld as a wild Pokemon. This, however, seems to be much less common than other wild Pokemon being spawned. In order to increase the odds of finding Ferroseed in this way, players are recommended to use incenses and lures so that the overall Pokemon spawn rates are increased. If players are lucky, they also have the rare chance to encounter Ferroseed in its shiny form.

After catching this Pokemon, players can evolve Ferroseed with 50 Ferroseed candies into Ferrothorn. This Pokemon shares its dual Grass and Steel-type with its pre-evolution as well as its weaknesses to Fire and Fighting-type moves. Ferroseed and Ferrothorn resist Poison, Psychic, Dragon, Normal, Electric, Water, Steel, Rock, Fairy, and Grass-type moves, making it a very good tank type-wise. Ferrothorn's best moveset for the strongest possible DPS has it knowing Metal Claw for its fast move and Power Whip for its charge move.
