The month of September is just around the corner, and with it comes many new opportunities for Pokemon GO trainers. Players who enjoy the mobile app can look forward to new Mega Evolution raids and special research that will be available throughout the month.

Along with giving player more opportunities to get involved with Raid battles during September, Niantic is giving a discount for Remote Raid Passes. During the month of September, players can purchase three Remote Raid Passes for the price of one PokeCoin, which can prepare them for the challenges that will be taking place throughout the month in Pokemon GO. This deal lasts from the first day of the month to September 30 at 1 PM PDT, and players can only take advantage of this deal when they have less than three Remote Raid Passes.

Unlock Mega Pidgeot

From September 1 at 8 AM to September 7 at 10 PM in the player's local time, Pokemon GO users will have to work together to collectively compete two million Mega Raids. If the community can reach this goal in time, everyone will be able to unlock Mega Pidgeot so that the Pokemon can be encountered during Mega Raids.

On top of this, players will have other bonuses throughout this time when playing the game. To help players reach their goal, more Mega Raids will be available, and friends will receive an added attack bonus during these raids when fighting alongside each other. Field Research tasks will also net players Mega Energy for the Gen 1 Starter Pokemon. Certain Pokemon will be more common during this time as well, such as Abra, Magnemite, Exeggcute, Rhyhorn, Tangela, Electabuzz, Omanyte, Aerodactyl, Murkrow, Larvitar, Treecko, Torchic, Lotad, Roselia, Beldum, and Cranidos.

Unlock Mega Houndoom and Mega Beedrill

September 11 at 8 AM to September 17 at 10 PM local time brings with it the ability to unlock Mega Houndoom in a similar way, but instead of including Mega Raids, players can use Mega-Evolved Pokemon to complete Gym battles, Team GO Rocket battles, and Trainer Battles, except those through the GO Battle League.

The Pokemon GO community must compile a total of 275 million wins in order to unlock Mega Houndoom in Mega Raids. Players can also obtain Beedrill Mega Energy by finishing event-exclusive Field Research tasks, and when using the Mega Bug-type in the battles that can unlock Mega Houndoom during the event period, it'll get a boost in CP as well.

Other features available during this time are the increased presence of Bug-type Pokemon such as Caterpie, Weedle, Paras, Venonat, Scyther, Pinsir, Ledyba, Spinarak, Wurmple, Kricketot, and Burmy. Special Field Research tasks will give players access to Mega Energy for the Kanto region starting Pokemon. Team GO Rocket will also be using different Shadow Pokemon during this time, so fans can be on the lookout for them. There will also be raid and battle-focused Timed Research at some point during this event that players can look forward too.

Players have other events besides these. Mega Gengar can be obtained through a Timed Storyline event toward the end of the month. Larger Pokemon will start popping up more often, so players will more frequently find Arbok, Doduo, Onix, Alolan Exeggutor, Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, Jynx, Pinsir, Lapras, Snorlax, Furret, Wobbuffet, Dunsparce, Mantine, Skarmory, Hariyama and Wailmer. Mega Bracelt avatar items will also be available for purchase in the shop.

With so many events coming to Pokemon GO this September, players have a lot to look forward to. Starting tomorrow, the community can begin the hunt for new Mega Evolved Pokemon all around the world.
