As expected, Pokemon GO is kicking off August with yet another surprise event. This isn't the Gen 4 evolution event that fans have been hoping for, but rather an event to encourage more trading. The event offers up some big discounts and bonuses, so players should study up to make sure they get the most value out of the deals.

In order to encourage players to make some new friends and start trading creatures, Pokemon GO is offering some big discounts on the Stardust associated with special trades. There is a bit of math associated with the discounts, but luckily the Pokemon GO community has already done all the serious thinking for us.

The combination of the 25% Stardust discount and the chance at extra candies make this event the perfect time to pick up some new dex entries from friends if you need to. 25% isn't an enormous discount, but when it comes to Stardust, every piece counts.

Next weekend marks the two-day Eevee Community Day event, so August is definitely off to an exciting start so far. Trainers should check back in the coming weeks to see what else the game has planned.
