As one might expect, Pokemon GO has been taking part in this year's celebration of Pokemon's 25th Anniversary. Aside from general passive bonuses like increased experience gain and special Pokemon spawns, the game has treated players to several Kanto-themed events in the past several weeks.

Despite several different events, one of the primary 2021 highlights has been the long-awaited Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto. This special, paid event allows players to choose between a Red or Green version, which can then be enjoyed from the comfort of players' local surroundings, and more notably features a unique new Special Research.

Trainers who opt to purchase Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto tickets will be able to access a new variety of Special Research dubbed "Masterwork Research." The first Masterwork Research is titled "All-in-One 151," and it ultimately allows Trainers to catch an elusive Shiny Mew. Like Special Research, each Masterwork Research questline can only be completed once.

To access this very first Masterwork Research, paid GO Tour: Kanto participants simply need to complete the Shiny Ditto Special Research. Once complete, the Masterwork Research will become available. Without a doubt, "All-in-One 151" demonstrates that Masterwork Research quests will be formidable endeavors, as even though this Research only comprises four stages, it requires more than a month to complete. As of the second of four stages in "All-in-One 151," players will need to spend 30 consecutive days slinging Poke Balls, so Shiny Mew will require a full month of gameplay at least.

The currently known "All-in-One 151" Masterwork Research Tasks and Rewards are as follows:

Part 1 of 4

  • Get a Platinum Kanto Medal | 51 Ultra Balls
  • Send 151 Gifts to friends | 1 Poffin

While the latter half of the Masterwork Research only truly consists of one part, it presents players with several more challenges than either of the first parts alone. The earlier parts of the Research don’t call for many technically challenging feats, but they do task players with playing consistently, which can be an arduous task. More casual players will definitely feel a bit more at home with the Kanto Tour's Timed Research and Field Research Tasks.

Thankfully, players will receive their Shiny Mew encounter upon completing the daunting third page of tasks, and the fourth part of the Research will complete itself. Players can immediately claim all rewards from Part 4 of the All-in-One 151 Masterwork Research once they complete Part 3. Given that completing the Shiny Ditto Research is a prerequisite to the Masterwork, Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto players can also take solace knowing they'll emerge from the event with a matching set of blue Shiny Pokemon.
