Pokemon GO players have a lot to keep track of this July. The big anniversary event, GO Fest 2020, is arriving at the end of the month, but there is a Community Day, Weekly Challenges, and a lot of other activities to get through before then. In addition to all of that, some hints from Professor Willow suggest that another Team Go Rocket takeover could be arriving as early as today.

For the past few days, there have been a series of silly updates on the official Pokemon GO blog that include hints about the return of Team GO Rocket. There have been scraps of paper and partial messages that point towards Team Rocket making advances in hot air ballon technology and preparing to takeover our mobile AR world once again. The latest update came in the form of an "email that Team GO Rocket accidentally sent out" and includes a more specific time frame about when this attack may be taking place in Pokemon GO.

The message mentioned that something big is happening on July 7, 2020. That means that by the end of today Team GO Rocket will have put their plan into place and there may be another event to participate in. If not, there should at least be an announcement about what Team GO Rocket has been up to and when players will be able to start battling their grunts and bosses once again. The following message was shared via Professor Willow's log of updates...

Subject: [Willow Report] Trainers worldwide have received an email from Team GO Rocket

The answers are starting to become clear to me! Due to an email that Team GO Rocket has accidentally sent out, I have reason to believe that they have made advancements in their balloon technology and have been scouting invasion locations for some time now. From last year’s initial balloon test to their global take-over of our communication channels and the world, what we thought were simply silly theatrics were in fact a highly organized series of tests. Have they truly been planning to roll out this new technology all along? Perhaps they have a new plan in the works! Or maybe I’m giving them too much credit and they’ve just been incredibly lucky this entire time? What a peculiar organization. I don’t know whether I should be impressed or bewildered by their unconventional methods.

The email stated that something big is happening tomorrow, July 7, 2020. We must brace ourselves for whatever is coming.

Be on the lookout for anything unusual tomorrow, Trainers!

At this point, that's everything we know. the event details will likely arrive later today and, if its launch follows the usual trend for PoGO events, it may kick off around 1pm local time for players around the world. Keep a close eye on the app today for push notifications that may offer more details about the event as it approaches. Keep in mind that today is also the last day for the first Weekly Challenge, so be sure to finish up those tasks this morning if you haven't already.

As trainers continue working through all of these amazing events, they may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
