Update: The Rocket Invasion seems to be live again!

Pokemon GO's next big event, the Team GO Rocket Invasion, is finally here. The evil team R grunts are taking over Pokestops and bringing along some nasty Shadow Pokemon with them. It's up to trainers to defeat the bad guys in battle and then capture and Purify the Shadow Pokemon with a little help from some excess Stardust and Candy.

To dive into the Pokemon GO Rocket Invasion content, players basically just need to head out into the world and start looking for things that appear a little different than they did yesterday. That said, we're still going to break down all the important mechanics and tips to make sure readers won't miss a thing.

How to find invaded Pokestops?

This one is pretty simple. On the map, invaded Pokestops appear with a darker shade of blue. They definitely stand out and are very easy to notice while exploring. Players do need to be at least level 8 to see a Team Rocket Pokestop and after 30 minutes, the invaded Pokestop will revert back to a normal Pokestop.

How to battle Team Rocket?

Team GO Rocket battles can be initiated by visiting an invaded Pokestop. Players don't have a limit on the number of battles they can complete per day, but they can only complete one grunt battle per Pokestop, similar to Battle Raids at Gyms.

What are the rewards?

Players who defeat Team Rocket Grunts will have the chance to catch a Shadow Pokemon with Premier Balls. The rewards for a successful battle are 500 Stardust and the Shadow Pokemon Encounter. Don't worry if you lose the battle though. Players are allowed to participate in rematches.

Be sure to check back in the coming days as we dive into the new content and share more news, updates, and strategy guides. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
