Pokemon GO just wrapped its European GO Fest event in Dortmund, Germany. And while it featured everything that fans have come to expect from the events, it also featured something a little extra. During the Pokemon GO Fest activities in Dortmund, Germany, a black hot air balloon marked with the Team Rocket "R" was seen flying in the sky above the players in attendance.

The real-life Team Rocket hot air balloon is just the latest tease that the infamous Pokemon-stealing group will be making its way to Pokemon GO. Previously, Team Rocket members were photobombing snapshots players were taking at Pokemon GO Fest Chicago - a phenomenon that repeated in Dortmund.

Besides official teases by Niantic, there's even more evidence that Team Rocket is coming to Pokemon GO. Dataminers have dug through Pokemon GO's files, finding evidence that players will soon be able to encounter Team Rocket members while exploring the game world, with the ability to battle them.

Datamining efforts also discovered that Shadow Pokemon are likely coming to Pokemon GO in a future update. It's likely that Team Rocket and the Shadow Pokemon are connected, and so Pokemon GO fans can expect them to be added to the game in the same update.

Unfortunately for Pokemon GO fans excited for Team Rocket to come to the game, it's unclear when exactly this update will come out. However, with Niantic going as far as to fly a real Team Rocket hot air balloon above Pokemon GO Fest Dortmund, it seems like the update could come any day now.

Longtime Pokemon GO fans will note that Team Rocket has had a presence in the game in the past. Previously, Pokemon GO players could purchase Team Rocket outfits for 950 coins, but it seems like the villainous group will have a much more significant presence in the augmented reality mobile game in the near future.

Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
