For the last week or so one of the most popular features of Pokemon GO has been disabled as the developers looking into a fix that was causing the game to freeze and become unresponsive when players launched a Team GO Rocket encounter. The lack of Team GO Rocket was causing serious frustrations for trainers trying to reach the new max level, but luckily there is finally an exciting update from the official Niantic Support accounts.

The issue persisted for more than a week and just yesterday Niantic Support confirmed that a fix had been found and would be pushed out in the next update. Just a few hours later another status update arrived and confirmed that Pokemon GO trainers should now be able to encounter Team GO Rocket once again.

Team GO Rocket encounters are required to level beyond 44 and endgame players have definitely been hurting without the opportunity to continue the grind. Beyond that, more casual players also have plenty of reason to encounter Team GO Rocket and the enemy faction's absence has definitely been noticed by the fanbase. Luckily, things should be back to normal now. The latest update to the known issues log now marks the problem as resolved and trainers should once again be able to find Team GO Rocket on the map and launch encounters without issue.

As an added bonus for players who have been frustrated with the lack of Team GO Rocket encounters over the last week or so, Niantic is also offering a free bundle full of valuable items to help apologize for the inconvenience...

"Trainers, as an additional make up, we’ve added a free box to the Shop in-app, containing 30 Poké Balls and 1 Rocket Radar. This box will be available until April 29th, 7 p.m. PT. Thank you again for your patience while we worked on a resolution!"

With Team GO Rocket encounters back in action things can finally return to normal in the world of Pokemon GO. The disturbance wasn't quite as bad as Harry Potter: Wizards Unite having to delay all major events in March, but it was certainly enough of an inconvenience to cause a stir on social media. Hopefully the free bundle helps make up for the last time and trainers get back to their usual activities and level grinding now.

Over the next few weeks or so players should begin to learn a lot more about what other events are on the way throughout the final weeks of the the Season of Legends. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
