After weeks of leaks, datamines, and speculation; Pokemon GO players are finally once again facing off with Team GO Rocket. The bad guys are back with the Looming in the Shadows Special Research and with another Rocket-themed event for players to take advantage of.

The Team GO Rocket Disruption event went live yesterday in Pokemon GO and players around the world have been out battling grunts and catching Shadow Pokemon. The event is scheduled to last for about one full week, so trainers should prepare to take a break from catching the most powerful Unova Pokemon in the game and focus on fighting the enemies for a few days.

There aren't many active bonuses for trainers to take advantage of during this event, but there are some interesting changes to spawns and an unexpected Battle Raid rotation. Players who are working through the Looming in the Shadows Special Research will likely want to take advantage of the event spawns and changes to help complete many of the Research tasks needed.
