While most of the tasks featured in Pokemon GO's Season of Legends Special Research are fairly straightforward, that is not the case with absolutely all of them. For example, there is task that centers around taking a snapshot of Landorus, and indeed it may be giving players some trouble. For those fans that may need a little assistance completing this new Pokemon GO challenge, full details can be found in what follows.

Updated July 23, 2021 by Mina Smith: Pokemon GO regularly updates their five-star raid rotation, making it hard to keep up-to-date information on what Pokemon are currently available to catch. While some Pokemon are evergreen, most of the strongest Pokemon are regularly rotated from the high-end raids and Mega Raids. Considering Landorus is one of these five-star Pokemon, the best option to catch it when it is not available in raids is to trade for it. This article has been updated with the newest information on the raiding schedule as well as a clearer picture of how to snapshot Pokemon in the GO app.

How to Get A Landorus

Pokemon Landorus

To begin, players that are working on this Pokemon GO Season of Legends Special Research task must first obtain a Landorus. Unfortunately, that is not extremely easy to do at the time of writing, as the Legendary Pokemon finished its residency in five-star raids at the end of last week. This means that players that have not previously caught a Landorus will either need to wait for it to return to raids or try to trade for it in order to complete the task at hand. However, as Landorus is now part of the regular five-star rotation, players can always wait for its next spot in the raid to catch it.

How to Take a Snapshot in Pokemon GO

Regardless of how a player chooses to catch a Landorus in PoGO, the method for taking a snapshot of it is always the same. Select the Menu at the bottom of the screen, then go to Items. Scroll down in the Items menu to find the Camera. Select it, and the app will allow the player to choose which Pokemon to take a photo of. Once chosen, the AR will open, allowing players to take a photo of the chosen Pokemon. The background will be whatever location the player points their phone camera at.

Other Snapshots for the Special Research

As soon as that snapshot has been taken, players should receive indication that they have completed the relevant task and earned 10 Landorus Candy as a reward. This is not the last time that players will need to take photographs of Legendary Pokemon during the Season of Legends, though, as the Special Research features snapshot-based challenges for both Tornadus and Thundurus as well. Notably, these Pokemon will be in five-star raids throughout the rest of March, and players should make sure to catch them when they have the chance.

Tornadus and Thundurus are also five-star raid only Pokemon, which means players will have to wait for them to be available in raids or will have to trade for one. Hopefully for those players that missed Landorus's recent raid appearance, it will be back after Tornadus and Thundurus have finally gone, allowing fans to fully complete all of the Season of Legends Special Research.
