Pokemon Go players have successfully completed the Pokemon Go Fest Yokohama research tasks. With the completion of the Pokemon Go Global Challenge, Niantic has confirmed that a special Suicine Raid Day has been unlocked. The Legendary Pokemon will be available to catch on August 17  at 4:00 pm local time. The Suicine Raid Day will also be the first opportunity for Pokemon Go players to catch a Shiny Suicine, exclusively available for the day.

Suicine is a Legendary Pokemon introduced in the second generation of Pokemon games, Pokemon Gold and Silver. Suicine is a Water-type Pokemon and is referred to as one of the Legendary Beasts alongside Entei and Raikou. Once caught, Suicine has a maximum CP of 1704 or 2130 boosted. Don't expect Suicine to be an easy capture, however, as the Suicine raid is ranked 5-star. Strong counters for Suicine include Raikou, Zapdos, and Exeggutor.

The Suicine Raid Day was unlocked as a result of Pokemon Go teams across the world completing their respective Global Challenges. Since each team completed their respective challenge, including the players in Yokohama, there will also be unlocked bonus effects starting August 13. Pokemon Go players can expect 3x Stardust for Pokemon captures, 3x Stardust for hatching eggs, a guaranteed 3,000 Stardust from raids, and 1-hour durations on Star Pieces. These effects will last for an entire week.

The Pokemon Go Fest Yokohama challenges began on August 7 and would have ended August 12 if players hadn't successfully completed their challenges. First to complete their challenges were Team Valor and Team Mystic. The on-location Yokohama players completed their challenge on Friday morning, with Team Instinct completing its challenge Friday night. It was an impressive success across the board, with Team Mystic leading the way.

The Pokemon Go Fest Yokohama 2019 event will continue through August 12. Global bonuses from the event include an increased spawn rate for Poliwags, as well as the rare chance to find Shiny Poliwags. Also ongoing is Pokemon Go's current special gifting event, which gives players a chance to hatch a Shiny Bonsly and also increases gift-giving and receiving limitations. To celebrate Pokemon Go's third anniversary, there's also a special research project that will reward a bonus allowing players to take down raid bosses faster.

The next Pokemon Go Community Day has also been announced, though it's still over a month away. Turtwig will be the next Community Day Pokemon, which starts September 15.
