Niantic has begun rolling out a storage layout update and fans appear to be a big fan of the change as many have gone online to praise the new UI. December is proving to be a busy month for Pokemon GO players, as Niantic has a lot of special events planned. In fact, December's Community Day for 2022 is a year-end recap, giving players another opportunity to capture every previous featured Pokemon from the calendar year.In addition, Niantic has also begun the first part of its Winter Holiday celebration in Pokemon GO. The event brings plenty of bonuses including 50% more XP for winning Raid Battles, special in-game shop items, festively dressed wild Pokemon, new timed and field research, and Mega Glalie arriving in Battle Raids. However, some players have noticed that a new storage update has begun rolling out under the radar.RELATED: Pokemon GO Player Shames Their Lackluster Mythical Pokemon With Funny NicknamesFor those who have received the stealth update, the player's item bag has been overhauled. Originally, the Pokemon GO item bag required a lot of scrolling for players who held a lot of things, which ultimately wasn't ideal. This latest update adds a grid style view with categories and subheaders for better organization, making it far easier and requiring much less scrolling to find the item the player is looking for. The feature is still rolling out to players so for those who don't see it yet, they'll need to wait just a bit longer.

The item bag update has proven to be a hit with many players already. One Twitter user named TracyLise provided a great look at the new Pokemon GO UI compared to the old style. Other responses online continue to be very positive regarding the change with some still in shock that this requested change even happened at all. A user named MrZrox75 provided a good tip that players should check the corner of the screen, as the new UI needs to be manually changed if the update has been applied.

Another common comment from players is that while this change is very appreciated, many feel that this doesn't make up for all of the issues Pokemon GO has seen this year. For many, the rampant increase in monetization was a major issue, including the paid Keldeo Special Research which many said wasn't worth the cost. Bugs also interrupted numerous events at the end of October, including the arrival of Zorua and special Lampent raids during the Litwik community day.

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
