Pokemon GO players may need to be in Yokohama to participate in GO Fest proper, but thanks to Global Research tasks and special rewards being unlocked, fans around the world are now a part of the extended fun. The latest reward unlock is a massive one and offers trainers the chance to stock up on the game's most valuable resource of all: Stardust.

Blanche's rewards are currently live in Pokemon GO, thanks to everyone's hard work, and these bonuses include the all-important triple Stardust bonus. In case you're new to the game and questioning the hype surrounding this bonus, here's the summary: Stardust is incredibly valuable because players need it trade, evolve, and (most importantly) level up Pokemon. Catching a high IV Pokemon is all fine and good, but leveling it up to a competitive rank is really what makes the difference when it comes to Raid and PvP battle performance.

This particular Stardust event offers triple dust for hatching and catching. Players will also receive 3,000 Stardust per raid (which is a nice little incentive to spend some money in the game and pick up extra Premium Raid Passes). The bonuses last for just one week and end on August 20, so be sure to get out and start racking up all the Stardust as soon as you can.

Pokemon GO Stardust Event guide

It shouldn't be much of a surprise that if you have Star Pieces (or some extra gold to acquire them) now would be a great time to pop the items. The above chart shows the base Stardust for each action, the Stardust with the event, and the Stardust with the event and an active Star Piece. Some of those values are too good to pass up on and players who are running low on the resource should definitely take this opportunity to build up a new store.

There should be one more unlocked reward to announce in the next day, so we'll keep an eye out for that. Many fans are keeping their fingers crossed for a regional rotation event, but there haven't been any official hints of that just yet.

Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
