The event marks the debut of the adorable Bug/Fairy-type Cutiefly and its evolution Ribombee, expanding the list of Fairy-type creatures available in Pokemon GO. Players will also find Pokemon adorned with cherry blossoms, these being Pichu, Pikachu and Raichu, Eevee, and all Eeveelutions. The event will also give 2x Hatch Candy, reduce the distance needed to hatch eggs, and will increase the duration of Lucky Eggs activated during the event.

The event will increase the spawn rate of some Pokemon. Luckier players will have the chance to find special versions of Chansey and Togetic, which will be the April Community Day Pokemon, adorned with a flower crown. Players will also have special Raids, including five-star Raids with Lugia and Mega Raids with Lopunny. If a player obtains 2 km eggs during the event, they can hatch some Pokemon like Riolu, Munchlax, and Happiny using a flower crown. During the event, research task encounters will have Pokemon adorned with cherry blossoms and flower crowns. In Raids, eggs, and research tasks it will also be possible to find shiny Pokemon. The Collection Challenge will give XP, Stardust, and a Lucky Egg.

The Spring Into Spring event is interesting, as it will allow players to capture some "dressed for spring" Pokemon, which will increase their rarity. It is also the perfect time in terms of context to debut Cutiefly and Ribombee in Pokemon GO, as the creatures are a kind of bee, a characteristic animal of spring. It is also a very good opportunity to expand the Pokedex by capturing the evolution of Togepi, as Togetic is very rare to see in Pokemon GO.
