Pokemon come in all shapes and sizes, but one Pokemon GO player managed to catch an impossibly small Tyranitar that seems too good to be true. In Pokemon GO, trainers can encounter Pokemon all around the world, with some appearing smaller — and in some cases larger — than others, often leading collectors to search for little monsters of every size category.

Recently, Pokemon GO held its Larvitar Community Day Classic, an event that featured the Larvitar line, allowing players to catch them to their heart's content, with a heightened chance of catching a shiny variation. The event lasted three hours, and featured special tasks and rewards for players willing to fork over some pocket change to participate, earning various prizes such as Poke Balls, Larvitar candy, and experience.

For one Pokemon GO trainer, the Larvitar they eventually evolved into the final evolution Tyranitar came with a very odd detail. Reddit user Neonwolf9 shared their special Tyranitar to the Pokemon GO subreddit, showcasing the 1.0 meter tag, which translates to approximately 3.28 feet. The special sized Pokemon is nothing new, as developer Niantic recently added more XXS and XXL Pokemon in a recent Pokemon GO update, but this one may take the cake for most unique of all. Tyranitars typically come at twice the size of this miniature version, reaching up to nearly seven feet tall, and weighing approximately 445 pounds. The Tyranitar belonging to Neonwolf9 did pack a solid 200 pounds, leading many to make the observations that this one in particular is quite wide for its height.

"God help us, it's a 200 pound angry toddler," stated Reddit user lastdarknight, one of over 400 comments published in the thread that hit over three thousand likes in its first 24 hours on the subreddit. The dual-type Rock/Dark pseudo-legendary Pokemon was released in the second generation, Pokemon Gold and Silver, and quickly became a fan favorite for its extremely bulky nature and its hard-hitting base attack. In the sixth generation, Pokemon X and Y, the Mega Evolution transformation was introduced, allowing players to use objects to mega evolve their Pokemon, providing them with a boost to their statistics and making them more threatening. Tyranitar was one of 48 Mega Evolutions, turning it into Mega Tyranitar once exposed to Tyranitarite.

Pokemon GO is off to a fantastic start to the new year, involving its player base in several special missions and events to keep them active and enjoying the game. Following the Larvitar Community Day Classic, Pokemon GO will be launching the Crackling Voltage event which will feature a myriad of different Pokemon showing up more frequently in the wild, and trainers may also discover rare spawns of Meltan and Dedenne if they're lucky. While this event is set to kick off on January 27, players can expect to see the return of Tapu Koko, the Land God Pokemon, in 5-star raids, and for the first time ever they'll have the opportunity to catch a shiny variant. With more on the way in February as well, Pokemon GO doesn't appear to be losing steam in 2023 any time soon.

Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS devices.
