The first wave of Pokemon GO's Gen 4 release is less than 24 hours old and players are still discovering exactly what is currently available from the Sinnoh region. In addition to at least 20 confirmed Pokemon, it seems there is also at least one shiny family that can already be acquired.

The Sinnoh region's popular Shinx Pokemon family was suspected to be an early shiny appearance after the sprites were uncovered yesterday and now users on Reddit are sharing screenshot confirmation of encounters with the special spawn in Pokemon GO.

Collecting shiny Pokemon doesn’t give the trainer any kind of advantage in battle, but it is still a fun additional challenge to add into the game. Shiny Pokemon are perfect for leaving in Gyms to show off to the rest of the community. It seems likely that additional Gen 4 shiny monsters will start to pop up shortly, so be sure to keep an eye out and report any sightings.
