Pokemon GO’s Water Festival 2018 event is now fully underway. Trainers are hunting down Water-types, earning bonus stardust, and getting another chance to catch Kyogre in Legendary Battle Raids. In addition to all of that, there are also some new shiny pokemon to keep an eye out for.

Pokemon GO battle raid players are likely busy trying to hunt down a shiny Kyogre, but trainers don’t have to do raids to be a part of the shiny hunt. Shellder can also be shiny, which means there’s a new shiny family to evolve. The shiny version of Shellder is actually pretty awesome looking and is sure to stand out after catching dozens or more regular Shellders while on the search.

Here’s a look at the shiny variants for both Shellder and Cloyster…

Shiny Cloyster doesn’t stand out from regular Cloyster as much as we would like, but it’s still a cool variant. The orange Shellder is definitely going to be a fan favorite though.

Catching shiny pokemon in Pokemon GO requires a lot of dedication and luck, but the best bet is to just play as often as possible during the event and hope for the best. There’s no easy trick to find or catch shiny monsters, so players just need to enter as many encounters as they can.

The Water Festival ends on June 21, so players should take full advantage of the increased Shellder spawns now, while they still can. Good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
