Not too long ago, the video game developer Niantic added Pokemon GO's May 2019 Field Research tasks. On top of this update, it seems as if the studio has also added the Shiny version of Seel, the Generation 1 Water-type Pokemon, with its arrival in the mobile ARG seemingly tied to the monthly Field Research tasks.

Pokemon GO players ought to be able to encounter Seel when they complete the "Catch Five Water-type Pokemon" Field Research quest, and they will notice that its Shiny variant has a light, tan skin as opposed to the standard version's grayish-white skin. What's more is that players will be able to distinguish the special variant by the Shiny symbol that appears next to its name when it appears. Additionally, the Shiny version of Dewgong - that is, the evolved form of Seel - has a similar skin color as its pre-evolved Shiny version.

For those unaware, Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon GO typically display a set of different colors than the standard versions of a given creature. It's also worth noting that the Shiny variants are often rarities when one comes across them in the wild. Initially, the mobile ARG hosted a small amount of Shinies, but Pokemon GO developer Niantic has slowly and surely added a slew of Shiny Pokemon to the game on a near-consistent basis.

For instance, in addition to Shiny Seel, Trainers recently saw the addition of the Shiny version of Diglett, as well as a Shiny iteration of its evolved form of Dugtrio, not too long ago. These Shinies were added as a means to reward for players participating in several of Pokemon GO's Earth Day events when they were live in April.

On top of the unexpected addition of Shiny Seel, Niantic also recently surprised many Trainers by adding some legendary creatures into the wild, with Pokemon GO having received the Gen 4 Lake Trio, Azelf, Uxie, and Mesprit. Not to mention, with Pokemon GO's May 2019 Community Day on the way, it's safe to say that PoGO players certainly have plenty to keep them busy and look forward to in the future.

Pokemon GO is available for Android and iOS devices.
