Pokemon Go Fest Yokohama 2019 starts August 6, and Niantic has now decided to extend this celebration to players worldwide. While this global audience won't be able to participate in the annual Pikachu Outbreakchu or enjoy the increased drop rates that come with Pokemon Go Fest Yokohama, they will get something special in its own right. Namely, trainers worldwide will be able to capture their very own Shiny Poliwag between August 6 and August 12.

For the duration of this Pokemon Go Fest Yokohama 2019 celebration, Poliwags across the globe will have increased spawn rates. So too, the Shiny Poliwag, which has a light blue color, will be available to trainers for the very first time. This means that Shiny versions of Poliwag's evolutions will also be available for the first time, and those evolutions include Poliwhirl, Polywrath, and Politoed.

The second part of the Pokemon Go Fest Yokohama 2019 celebration is a set of new Global Challenges. Team Instinct, Team Valor, and Team Mystic will each be tasked with completing 25 million research tasks during the celebration, and the rewards for each team will be 3,000 Stardust per raid, 3x hatch Stardust, and 1-hour Star Pieces respectively. Any rewards that are earned will last from August 13 until August 20, and if all teams accomplish their challenge, Suicune (and Shiny Suicune) will be available in raids on August 17.

Perhaps by coincidence, the Pokemon Go Fest Yokohama 2019 celebration will now coincide with Pokemon Go's Shiny Bonsly and gifting event. Between August 5 and August 19, all eggs that drop will be 2-kilometer eggs, but they'll hatch into 7-kilometer egg Pokemon. These eggs will have a chance of hatching into Shiny Bonsly, and Shiny Sudowoodo will also be available for the first time if players want to evolve their Shiny Bonsly. During the event, players can also hold and send more gifts per day.

Pokemon Go's August Community Day is coming to an end, and every trainer's bag is now filled with Ralts. As such, some fans have likely been wondering what to look forward to in the next several weeks, and Niantic is going out of its way to ensure that there is something exciting on the horizon for all Pokemon Go players. Not just one, but two different events will be running at the same time, with the Shiny Bonsly egg and gifting event starting Monday, August 5 and the Shiny Poliwag and team challenge event starting Tuesday, August 6.

Pokemon Go is available now on iOS and Android devices.
