The latest Pokemon GO Community Day will take place later this week. The event will allow players to take advantage of triple Stardust rewards, longer-lasting modules, and a special Community Day box will be available at the in-game store. That's not all, though, as players will also be able to bag themselves one very special Pokemon variant.

While Pokemon GO players had speculated that shiny Eevee would be available as part of the forthcoming Community Day (shiny variants had been a selling point of past Community Day events), nothing was confirmed. Until now that is, as an article announcing the event on the official Pokemon website confirms that shiny Eevee will be out in the wild. The site writes, "Eevee will appear in the wild much more frequently than normal during these periods, and you might encounter a Shiny Eevee for the first time.”

The shiny variation of Eevee trades the character's warm, hazel-colored fur for an icy, silver and grey look. The end of its tail and the fur around its neck becomes a blue-tinged white, while its actual body becomes a murky grey color. Shiny Eevee's look is one of the more drastic color changes of the shiny Eeveelutions so the rare character won't be too hard to miss. However, Pokemon GO players will still want to check out this handy graphic comparing all of the shiny Eeveelutions before the Community Day kicks off.

That's not all, however, as it's also revealed that the Eeveelutions will have access to Last Resort, which is the exclusive move from this Community Day. "Any Eevee that evolves between the start of Saturday’s Community Day until the end of Sunday’s will know Last Resort in its evolved form," explains the website. Given that this Community Day event takes place over two days, this should be more than enough time for players to evolve all of the Eevees in their collections.

Unfortunately, the article doesn't address the rumors that Glaceon and Leafeon will be introduced during the event. Given that Pokemon GO developer Niantic is keen to include both Eevee and its evolutions in the fun, it does seem logical for these characters to be introduced, too. But with shiny Eevee and Last Resort now confirmed for the event, Niantic may also be using Glaceon and Leafeon as its two big surprises.

Pokemon GO is available on Android and iOS devices.
