Ahead of the upcoming fall season, Pokemon GO developer Niantic has been doing some housekeeping. Not only has it recently revealed the Community Day dates for October, November, and December, but now, it has revealed what players can expect for a Research Breakthrough over the next two months.
As many know, Pokemon GO players claim a Research breakthrough after completing 7 days' worth of Field Research tasks. The reward in the past has been one specific legendary, then this was was shaken up with the introduction of a reward pool. Now, it's back to a specific reward, but this one isn't a legendary. Pokemon GO players who complete a Field Research Breakthrough in September and October will encounter a Flower Crown Eevee as a result.
Officially, the time frame for Flower Crown Eevee begins on September 1, 2019, at 1 PM PT/4 PM ET and ends on November 1, 2019, at 1 PM PT/4 PM ET. Moreover, players who get lucky enough may encounter a Shiny Flower Crown Eevee as a Research Breakthrough reward. Of course, this would be a considerable amount of luck, as Pokemon GO players will have roughly 8 or 9 chances to claim the reward over the next two months.
However, those who do manage to get a Shiny Flower Crown Eevee will be glad to know, like all Pokemon with headgear, it will retain the Flower Crown upon evolution. This means that Flower Crown Eeveelutions and their shiny forms are a possibility as a result of this event, so those who haven't used the name trick on Glaceon or Leafeon may want to do so for this Pokemon GO Eevee.
While this addition alone has the potential to re-capture the passion of many-a-Pokemon GO players, developer Niantic has never been one to rest on its laurels. On top of this on-going research element, Gen 5 Pokemon will be releasing on September 16, with a recent data mine also revealing the first wave of Gen 5 Pokemon and their shiny forms, so fans had better be ready to hit the ground running.
