2021 has already been a very busy year for Pokemon GO, a mobile game that continues to be massive popular. Aftter weathering the 2020 storm that saw the coronavirus pandemic force everyone to stay home, Niantic has made sure to keep the title continually updated with new content from quests to new Pokemon. Just this past month, the title saw legendary Pokemon Xerneas and Yveltal from the Pokemon X and Pokemon Y series become available to capture in five star raids.

Since March, trainers have been able to get their hands on Shadow versions of the three legendary birds originally from the Pokemon Red and Blue Gameboy titles. Starting this week, the final bird of the trio, Zapdos, can be rescued from Giovanni for a limited time. With June now arriving this week, Niantic has a whole slew of updates and content coming, including a major refresh of Pokemon that can be found in the wild or hatched from eggs.

In a new blog post, Niantic reveals the Season of Discovery which brings all sorts of new Pokemon back into the spotlight as well as Pokemon GO Fifth Anniversary celebrations, and the annual Pokemon GO Fest event. In fact, this month includes a seasonal change across the globe which means the available Pokemon in each of the Hemispheres is about the change as well.

Players living in the Northern Hemisphere where summer is set to begin, they'll start to see Alolan Diglett, Staryu, Barboach, Petilil, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, and Summer Form Deerling appear more frequently in the wild. For those living in the Southern Hemisphere with winter right around the corner, the available Pokemon in the wild will be Alolan Sandshrew, Alolan Vulpix, Shellder, Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, and Winter Form Deerling.

In terms of eggs, Niantic is also refreshing which pocket monster has a chance to hatch from each Pokemon GO egg variant. Naturally, players can check each egg type to see which Pokemon could hatch from it as well. Meditite, Buizel, Spritzee, and Swirlix highlight the 2km egg while Togepi, Gligar, Skarmory, and Bonsly can appear in the 5km version. For the 10km egg, players have a chance to find Timburr, Rufflet, Goomy, or Noibat. 5km eggs earned from Adventure Sync has a chance to spawn Cranidos, Shieldon, Skrelp, or Clauncher while the 10km version features Bagon, Beldum, Gible, and Riolu.

June already appears to be a busy month for Pokemon GO fans as Niantic also revealed Clampearl as the June Breakthrough reward, as well as the return of the Regi-Legendaries for five star raids in the first half of the month. A special music-themed event is also taking place at the upcoming Go Fest event in July, which is also heavily discounted for players this year, likely making it more appealing for those continued to be stuck at home.
