Last week's Pokemon GO trailer confirmed that Gen 4 is right around the corner and the mobile AR game's social accounts have been teasing Gen 4 hints ever since. After a week of waiting, it seems like the newest update for the game is arriving today with the promise that Sinnoh region creatures are on the way.

Although there haven't been reports of Gen 4 creatures spotted in the wild just yet, the latest Pokemon GO update notes do clearly state that Gen 4 creatures are arriving in the game. It seems very likely that Gen 4 spawns could start appearing as early as later this afternoon. It could also take a few days, unfortunately there's no way to know until it starts.

"Pokemon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region are arriving in Pokemon GO."

Here's a look at the patch notes for the update...

This update isn't being forced out to phones yet, but players should be able to head to their app store and check for the update. There are a few other exciting changes that come along with this update, so many players are likely looking forward to exploring those quality of life improvements.

We'll continue monitoring for Gen 4 sightings, so be sure to check back in the near future for updates and other news. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
