Summer is always a particularly busy and exciting time for Pokemon GO trainers and that isn't any exception this year. There are a ton of events firing off, GO Fest 2021 right around the corner, and some major changes coming to distance and remote play. On top of all of that, there is also a Raid Hour coming up this week with a popular Legendary.

The Regi-trio have all been in the spotlight recently and now it is finally time for Regigigas to return to the spotlight, as well. The Legendary Normal-type is returning for a Pokemon GO Raid Hour on Wednesday, June 23 and trainers will have from 6-7pm local time to team up with some friends and assemble a roster of Pokemon that can defeat the boss.

Regigigas can actually be a pretty tough boss, so don't let the Normal-type fool you. Luckily, there are some strong counters available to players who take the time to do a bit of research and prep before diving into the fight. With the Normal-type in mind, players are going to want to take some time to assemble a roster of strong Fighting-type Pokemon to lead the way through the battle...

Best Regigigas Counters

Lucario - Counter/Aura Sphere

Conkeldurr - Counter/Dynamic Punch

Machamp - Karate Chop/Dynamic Punch

Breloom - Counter/Dynamic Punch

Gengar (Mega) - Sucker Punch/Focus Blast

Hariyama - Counter/Dynamic Punch

Lopunny (Mega) - Low Kick/Focus Blast

Toxicroak - Counter/Dynamic Punch

Blaziken - Counter/Focus Blast

Heracross - Counter/Close Combat

Trainers should keep in mind that they don't need a roster that exactly matches the top suggestions above, but a mix of those particular fighting-types will lead to the smoothest experience. Don't be afraid to burn through some Stardust, Candy, and TMs to prepare a respectable roster for this boss. Fighting-types are commonly used for Battle Raids, so it will likely be a good investment to power up at least one or two all stars for this fight in they're available.

It's also important to head into the Battle Raid with at least a small handful of other players and stacking bonuses for Friendships or Weather Boosting can make a big difference. Top tier players can, in theory, take down Regigigas with three players, but we highly recommend heading in with groups of five or more players to avoid any wasted efforts and failed attempts.

In the coming weeks, we should learn more about what other events will be arriving during the rest of the Season of Discovery. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
