Everything comes and goes, including Pokemon GO raid bosses, so those who have yet to catch the legendary Registeel may very well want to double down on their efforts. Although the legendary Steel-type creature is not a particularly difficult raid boss, here's how to take the goliath down. Essentially, players will want to focus on Registeel's weakness, which includes Fire-type Pokemon.

The aforementioned Pokemon GO players will want to accomplish this and add the legendary to their collection before August 16, which is when Registeel is slated to leave raid battles. However, it is worth mentioning that it is preceded in the roster by another member of the legendary titan trio, Regice, which means it is likely to be followed by the third and final member, Regirock.

There has yet to be official word from Niantic as to when Regirock will release, but players can reasonably expect to see it soon after Registeel's departure. After all, the legendary trio composed of Ice-, Steel-, and Rock-type titans was first introduced together in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. A fourth member, Regigigas, was introduced in the gen 4 titles, Pokemon Diamond and Sapphire, which has led to some speculation that the mobile ARG will introduce gen 4 Pokemon soon.

This speculation was further hyped when a leaker – who has been accurate in the past – revealed details about a gen 4 evolution event that is supposed to occur sometime this month. However, since it is already the halfway point of August, it is looking less likely by the day, but considering there has been gen 4 teases by Niantic, one can hope this event or some introduction of gen 4 begins soon.

Until that point, however, Pokemon GO trainers may need to occupy themselves with finally catching Registeel or deciding what to do with shiny Eevees captured during Eevee Community Day. With new raid boss news and/or gen 4 news hopefully on the horizon, be sure to check back here. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
